This guided practice talks about the impermanent nature of life. The highs don't last forever and the lows don't last forever. This knowledge helps us to live life more fully, to appreciate the moments of joy and happiness, and to understand that the challenging times won't last, but are a certain part of our human existence.

Hello lovely humans.

I hope you're well and I'm inviting you to sit and meditate or listen or lay or do whatever your body feels in this time and something that I think is important to remember when meditating or practicing a mindfulness practice is that our bodies can get sore and irritated and that that's okay.

And if you need to move like I'm doing right now then that is totally okay.

We need to honor our bodies and we know that we can't all sit still for a long period of time and that is totally fine.

So just find your space and just come to your breath inhaling and exhaling out your mouth.

One more like that in and out.

And just knowing for the next amount of time however long you are here for is all you need to do.

You have nowhere else to be but we are going to be.

I'm just going to be still and be mindful and the idea that I'm going to talk about in this session is impermanence and I'm noticing more and more in life the impermanent nature of all things.

A few days ago I was anxious and worried and unsure today I am full of joy and gratitude and love and tomorrow I don't know but being aware of these coming and going feelings and thoughts helps us to totally experience them.

And just coming back to your breath maybe those words resonate with you and maybe they don't and that's okay because we all have an experience of life that is different from everybody else and that's one of the special parts of this life and just breathing.

Knowing that each time a thought enters your mind to be gentle is the way to heal it and to quieten it.

Our mind is meant to think thoughts are meant to come and when they do it means they need healing an opportunity to be freed and we create space for that through this practice of meditation.

And so this idea of impermanence when we have an understanding of it an intellectual understanding when it makes sense in our brains only then can we start to understand it emotionally and feel it in our days.

And then when we notice sadness or anger or jealousy or fear we acknowledge that it's there but we know that it won't be there forever and so we feel it and we become aware of why it's there maybe it's there to teach us or guide us to challenge us and that's all.

We just let it be there because it is there and we don't need to fight.

What we resist will persist and then in other moments we realize we feel happy,

Excited,

Grateful,

Amazed and we just notice that and we know that that too will not be there forever so we soak it up and we live in just those moments because life is made up of moments and the more we learn to live in this moment not thinking about what could have been in the past or what might be in the future we live in what is right now because all we ever have is right now even the next moment becomes the now that's all we ever have so no matter what that moment brings up what feeling emotion what thought we accept we surrender and we gently let go because these feelings don't last forever so we live more fully when we realize this this impermanence and just letting those words fill your body and we just sit and breathe in this moment this gift you you just breathing in and out and then and out with your own breath and your own thoughts being gentle knowing that the highs and the lows and the good and the bad they don't last forever so we live in all of those moments and all of those moments become alive and I invite you to sit or lay for as long as you feel and I invite you to become aware of the impermanence of life and it is an idea that can help help us to live a more full and whole life it doesn't fix things and it doesn't make the bad go away but it helps helps us to deal with the bad that helps us to love the good even more and to me that's a pretty good way to be so please sit for as long as you like and know that I'm sending you love and that I am here if you ever want to talk but for now just breathe

I love this meditation celebrating impermanence. Accept. Surrender. Gently let go. The last part is so true…learning to accept the bad allows us to love the good more. Thank you. 💓
