In this meditation we are coming back to simplicity and reconnect with the potential of wakefulness and kindness already present within us. We will truly open ourselves to this present moment, without an agenda. Just being aware, of whatever comes up, we practice non-reactive awareness, letting go of our expectations, control, knowing, and truly relax with what is. Like this we create a kind, gentle, warm, holding space for the current of your present experience. We observe the movements of the mind and finally we rest in awareness. Allow the natural clarity of the mind to arise, once you give yourself a true break from the interference of your ego. This meditaton is inspired by the instructions of Khandro Rinpoche on Buddhist meditation.

Coming back to simplicity and just be aware.

Whatever it is that is asking your attention,

Whatever it is you are aware of,

Just be present with it.

Be present.

Be fully present.

Be fully present.

Be present.

Without an agenda.

Not trying to achieve anything,

Just being aware.

Be fully present.

Be fully present.

Be fully present.

Be fully present.

Be fully present.

To be aware here and now.

Without turning away from it.

Without trying to make it into something different,

Just as it is.

And what we see is that even very subtly there is an agenda.

Can you become aware of your hidden agenda?

Wanting to relax,

Wanting to get rid of pain or emotional pain,

Just become aware of that agenda.

Or your different agendas.

And then let it go.

And truly open yourself to this moment without an agenda.

Surrender yourself to this moment without an agenda.

Without knowing.

Not trying to understand.

Not trying to control it.

Just relax with it and don't do anything at all,

Except being aware.

And then let it go.

And truly open yourself to this moment without an agenda.

And truly open yourself to this moment without an agenda.

And while meditating like this,

Try to get a sense of a connection with your inner self.

A connection with your inner potential of a very gentle,

Wakeful mind.

It is not an acquired skill.

It is already there inside you,

This potential of kindness.

It is not an additional thought or an acquired emotion,

Just get in touch with an inner gentleness already present.

And let this gentleness pervade your awareness of this moment.

A warm and caring,

Friendly attention for your own current experience.

And let it go.

And truly open yourself to this moment without an agenda.

And truly open yourself to this moment without an agenda.

And refrain from adding something up to this gentleness.

Just allow it to be naturally.

Try to get a sense of it without interfering with your experience.

Just let your experience be what it is.

Without judging.

Or without judging the judging,

If there is judging.

Just be aware of it as it arises with a kind gentleness.

Give it a lot of space to just be there,

Whatever it is.

Just be present with occurrence of your experience.

Moment to moment.

And suddenly we might notice our mind wandering.

And we might think,

My mind is not thinking of the thoughts I wanted to think.

And then we become very controlling,

Very demanding.

And this is a potent creator of hope and fear.

Makes the mind become very tense.

I am not meditating well.

This meditation is not what I want it to be.

I cannot relax my mind.

Also just notice these things without interfering.

Let go of your control.

Relax with the moment.

This naked moment.

Without adding anything to it.

Without contaminating it with your expectations.

Just let it be.

And when you see the mind move,

Just be aware of that.

And see the powerful impact the mind can have on you.

See how a thought can generate an emotion.

Or how an emotion can create thoughts.

Some thoughts are generated by fear or arrogance or insecurity.

Just see what happens without adding anything up to it.

And come back to here and now.

Maybe by focusing on an object as an anchor in the here and now.

Like you're breathing.

And do it with a very relaxed attitude,

With joy.

Just be so natural,

Nothing to prepare.

Move into this simple moment of natural resting.

With your awareness here and now.

Just rest with this natural awareness.

And come back to here and now.

Don't let thoughts or emotions disturb you,

Just notice them,

Without following them.

Without pushing them away.

It is normal that you have a sense of what happens.

The world doesn't stop moving because you're meditating.

You don't have to make it stop,

Not even your own mind or experience.

Just relax with what happens.

And how to relax,

This means without adding anything to it.

Without making it into something,

Without modifying it.

Without removing anything.

Without trying to identify anything.

Without elaborating.

Just relax without that control.

Do not do anything.

Do not recall.

Or think how am I supposed to meditate.

Just rest and allow not knowing.

Staying curious and open.

Staying curious and open.

We go beyond relying on anything outside.

And get in touch with that base,

The most uncontaminated of nature in oneself.

You can truly relax,

Because you free the ego's constant demand of control.

You can truly relax,

Because you free the ego's constant demand of control.

Introduce yourself to these very short moments of that openness,

Where the self has absolutely nothing to do.

And give yourself a break.

Simple as it sounds.

Not to do anything is one of the most uncomfortable things,

Because it is contradictory of the habits we have developed.

Expectations are there,

So you just notice them without being disturbed by it.

And come back to the here and now.

Awaken here and now.

Awaken again and again.

And come back to this naked awareness.

To rest with the recognition of things as they are.

Free from knowing,

Free from concepts,

Even the very subtle concepts,

Where the mind is trying to capture something or fixate something.

Like the very subtle cocoon concept of resting in a peaceful mind.

Just notice when you are creating such a concept and let it go,

Go beyond it.

Or the thought of being a spiritual person,

Or an intellectual person,

Or a stupid person.

Also these you can become aware of.

Just notice the habits of the moving mind.

That doesn't mean the meditation is not good.

Good or bad meditation are again concepts,

Through which we are trying to control things.

Just notice them coming up without having to believe in it.

See them for what they are,

Productions of the mind and not a representation of a truth we should believe in.

And without being disturbed by it,

Just let it be.

And come back to doing nothing and give yourself a break.

Thank you.

What a gift! This has become my daily meditation, I feel like there are so many layers that can be uncovered with this. Your guidance and your voice are 《perfect》 to me. I would love to hear more meditations of yours if you can do some more in English? Although having said that, just this one is so enough for me, so rich. Thank you Annelies ♡

That was super nice. I was looking for a quieter guided meditation but one with some gentle reminders when my mind wandered. This is very good. Only drawback was no Bell or anything at the end to signify it was over. I kept sitting. 😁 Thank you.
