Welcome to this guided meditation to breathe in peace.

This practice was inspired by my conversation with Ella Hicks,

The founder of Rebel Thriver,

Supporting women affected by domestic violence.

As we talked,

Ella shared that she uses her breath to breathe in peace and breathe out chaos.

And here you can too,

To stay calm,

Centered throughout your day.

Practice this meditation to develop your neural pathways for peace,

Calm,

Reassurance,

Safety,

And love.

Allow the words to wash over you and fill you with peace so that you have peace within wherever you go,

Whatever you do.

Enjoy.

Start by finding a comfortable place where you won't be disturbed for about five or six or seven minutes.

Settle in,

Maybe close your eyes.

Just allow yourself to follow the sound of my voice.

If you're sitting in a chair,

Let your feet,

The soles of your feet find the floor,

The backsides of your legs,

Feel the chair.

Maybe allow your spine to lengthen,

Your shoulders to relax and broaden.

Maybe roll your shoulders once up and around and back to open up your chest so your lungs have room.

Your neck can be nice and long,

Your head balanced,

Your eyes closed.

And breathe.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Feel your lungs rising and falling.

You're not forcing anything.

You're just breathing.

Eyes closed,

Relaxing.

And now imagine a calm pool all around you.

Maybe you're seeing in your mind the calm surface of a pond in the morning or the surface of a lake at sunrise.

Maybe you're at the beach looking out to see,

Watching the sun rise or the sun set.

Wherever you are,

You're surrounded by peace.

You're safe.

All is well.

Peaceful,

Calm,

Safe,

Loving,

Warm.

You're nourished by the sun,

Surrounded by peace,

Calm,

Quiet.

And breathe.

And now maybe bring your attention to your nose just under your nostrils.

Feel the cool breath going in as you breathe in and the warm air going out as you breathe out.

Feel the peace of the pond,

Lake,

Or ocean coming in,

Peaceful and calm,

Coming into your chest,

Your lungs,

Your shoulders,

Your body,

All the way down to your hips,

Your legs,

Your feet,

Your arms,

Your fingers,

Peace coming in through your nose,

All around you,

Washing over you,

Peace coming in as your mind wanders and it will.

Just bring your mind back to your nose,

Your nostrils,

To the air coming in and the air going out,

Feeling peaceful,

Safe,

Warm,

Calm,

Relaxed.

You're breathing in peace,

Breathing in peace.

And now you're bringing your breath consciously to your awareness.

Allow your mind to come back into the room,

Widening from your nose,

Gently remembering where you are.

Slowly allow your eyes to flutter open with a soft gaze,

Breathing in.

Allow yourself to feel the peace inside,

Still there,

Always there,

Peace inside as you go about your day,

Breathing in peace deeply,

Eyes open,

Breathing in peace.

A final thank you to Ella Hicks and to you,

Dear sweet listener wishing you peace,

Safety,

Hope,

And freedom.

As Ella said,

You are so worth it.

Thanks for listening.
