Welcome to this meditation.
Practice of surfing the breath.
Closing your eyes,
Sitting with your back upright,
Straight,
Your legs crossed or stretched out in front of you.
Palms of your hands facing upwards,
Resting on your lap or legs.
Taking three deep breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.
As you inhale really filling the lungs,
Pausing at the top and as you exhale really emptying all the air out of the lungs without straining.
Breathing in and as you breathe out,
Letting go of all busyness,
Letting go of all interruptions,
Disturbance.
Relax,
Let go.
There's nowhere you need to be,
Nothing you need to do right now.
Just relax.
Keep the body still.
As we still the body,
The mind will follow.
Breathing in through the nose,
Out through the nose.
Relax.
Taking your awareness to the breath and noticing if the breath is rising and falling in the chest or the belly.
We're normally shallow breathing in the chest.
If that's the case,
Simply soften the belly and as you do so allowing the outward breath to drop down into the belly.
Don't force it,
Just allow,
Just allow.
Keep softening the belly.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Relax the jaw,
The shoulders,
The chest,
The belly.
Allowing all of your energy to drop down,
Down,
Down,
Out of the head,
Into the body.
We spend so much time up in our heads thinking,
Thinking,
Thinking.
Just allowing the breath to drop you down into the body,
Into the belly.
Keep relaxing,
Being aware of any time that the mind jumps in.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Coming back to the breath,
Gently and patiently.
Don't allow yourself to be under the influence of your mind.
Just keep returning your awareness to the breath.
The mind will always have us running.
The more that we can connect to the breath,
The more powerfully we connect to our higher self,
Our soul.
Stillness.
Now you're going to use the breath and you're going to ride the breath.
Imagine that you're surfing the breath.
Breathing in and every time you breathe in,
Bringing fresh vital life force,
Prana,
Flooding into your body,
Your cells.
Every time you breathe out,
Riding that wave out and allowing all stagnant energy,
All excessive activity to flow out of your body,
Your mind and your energy field.
Just relax.
Let everything slow down.
Let your energy drop down,
Down,
Down to the belly,
The glutes,
The legs,
Feeling heavy in the support of the chair underneath you,
Wherever you may be sitting.
Breathing in,
Riding the wave,
Breathing out,
Surfing,
Releasing all stale energy.
As we become still,
We slow down the external influences outside of us and we begin to ride the internal waves of the breath.
Slowing down,
Calming the mind,
Riding the breath,
The inhalation and the exhalation,
Just like riding waves.
Gentle,
Steady,
Calm,
Relaxing waves.
By regulating the breath in this way,
We regulate the mind,
We create space,
We create presence and as we drop deeper and deeper into the ocean,
We begin to merge with the unconscious,
Unmanifest potentiality.
Stillness,
Stillness,
Stillness,
Taking a moment to be still.
Be still and know your soul.
Be still and connect to all that is.
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Keep releasing any interference around you,
Any disturbances,
Ride the wave,
Come back to the breath.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Release.
Being aware of the natural pause at the top of the inhalation and the natural pause at the end of the exhalation.
As you ride the wave,
Ride the breath,
Breathe like the wave,
Ride the inhalation and the exhalation,
Reclaiming your power,
Being present so you can clearly see and elevate your consciousness.
Coming back to this present state awareness allows you to be less swayed by the storms of your daily external life.
Riding the breath,
Taking back control rather than being at the mercy of all the external influences.
Coming back to the breath,
As you calm the breath,
Riding the natural wave of the breath,
The mind becomes still,
The interruptions cease,
The urgencies and chaos dissolving,
Disappearing,
Becoming one with infinite potentiality.
And when you're ready,
Gently bringing your awareness back to your body,
Wiggling the fingers and toes,
Taking a few deeper breaths into the belly and as you bring your awareness all the way back,
All the way back,
Intending to take that stillness into the rest of your day.
Namaste.
