This practice is for anyone who has learned to doubt themselves. Who second-guesses every decision. Who looks outside for answers that can only be found within. Traditional affirmations often fail because the mind and body are not in agreement. This somatic approach is different. We regulate the nervous system first, then offer new beliefs — giving your body the chance to actually receive them. Through breath, grounding, and gentle self-touch, you will begin to rebuild the connection to your own knowing. To remember that your intuition is valid. That your body holds wisdom your mind cannot access. Part of the Reconnect series — body-based affirmations for coming home to yourself.

Welcome to the Somatic Affirmation Practice for Rebuilding Trust in Yourself.

Find a comfortable position,

Seated or lying down.

And let your eyes close if that feels right for you.

Now take a slow breath in.

And a long breath out.

One more time,

In through the nose.

Feel your belly expanding,

Your chest expanding.

And out through the mouth.

This practice is for anyone who has learned to doubt themselves,

Who has overridden their gut feelings,

Ignored their body signals,

Or abandoned their own knowing to keep the peace or make others feel comfortable.

And today,

We begin to repair that.

Not by forcing trust,

Not by forcing anything,

But by giving your body the permission to remember what it already knows.

And you don't have to believe these words completely.

You just have to be willing to hear them.

And allow them to drop into your body.

So let's begin.

I can trust myself.

Notice what happens in your body when you hear those words.

Does something resist?

Does something soften?

And just notice without any judgment.

I can trust myself.

Even if you've made mistakes,

Even if you've ignored your knowing before,

And even if others have told you that you can't be trusted,

Hear these words anyway.

I can trust myself.

Take a breath and let it settle.

I trust myself to know what I need.

Not what others say you should need.

Not what looks good or makes sense.

What you need,

Your body knows.

I trust myself to know what I need.

Now place a hand on your belly if that feels comfortable.

This is where your gut knowing lives,

Your instinct.

My body knows things my mind doesn't.

Your body has been collecting information your whole life.

It knows who feels safe and who doesn't.

It knows what's true and what isn't.

And it knows before your mind catches up.

My body knows things my mind doesn't.

I trust the wisdom of my body.

Now feel the weight of your hand on your belly.

Feel the warmth.

And feel anything that comes up.

This body has carried you through everything.

And it has never stopped trying to guide you.

I trust the wisdom of my body.

My intuition is valid.

Even when it doesn't make logical sense.

Even when others disagree,

Your knowing is real.

My intuition is valid.

I don't need permission to trust myself.

You don't need it from your parents,

Your partner,

Your friends or anyone else.

You are the authority on your own life.

I don't need permission to trust myself.

Now breathe into that.

What would change if you truly believe that?

I am allowed to change my mind.

Trusting yourself means honouring what's true now.

Even if it's different from what was true before.

You are allowed to evolve.

I am allowed to change my mind.

I am learning to listen to myself again.

This is a practice and you don't have to be perfect at it.

Every time you pause and ask,

What do I actually feel?

You are rebuilding the trust.

I am learning to listen to myself again.

I honour my yes and my no.

Both are sacred,

Both are valid.

Your yes means something because your no means something.

Breathe into that.

I honour my yes and my no.

And feel it in your heart.

I am coming home to myself.

One breath at a time.

One moment of listening at a time.

You are finding your way back.

Keep inhale and exhale.

I am coming home to myself.

Take a deep breath in.

Through the nose.

And sigh it out through the mouth.

And then place both hands on your heart.

Feel your heart beating.

Feel the rise and fall of your breath beneath your palms.

This is your seal.

Whenever you need to remember that you can trust yourself,

Just place your hands here and feel this connection to your heart,

To your body,

To your breath.

You can trust yourself.

Your body knows and your intuition is real.

Take one more breath.

And when you are ready,

Gently open your eyes.
