Today,
We ask for access to the field of gentleness.
Please have a seat.
Sit comfortably either on the floor,
On a cushion,
Or in a chair with your feet on the ground and your back supported.
Relax your belly,
Relax your breath,
Relax your shoulders,
And breathe in and breathe out.
Lightly bring your index and thumb on each hand to rest palms up in your lap.
Feel the gentle connection between these two fingers and feel a soft ease in the center of each palm.
Relax your low back,
Your middle back,
And your upper back.
Let your eyes be closed or let your gaze softly turn down.
And with each round of breath here,
Here in your mind,
I am breathing in.
And as you exhale in your mind,
I am breathing out.
And let this repeat a few cycles.
I am breathing in,
I am breathing out.
And now I will count down from five.
And with each number,
You will settle more deeply into your body.
Beginning five,
Four,
Deeper,
Three,
Two,
Even deeper in,
One,
Fully in your body,
Rest here.
Feel open to the quality of gentleness.
Imagine that you are holding something very gentle.
Whatever it is that comes to mind that embodies gentle,
See it in your mind's eye.
What is the texture of gentle?
What is the color of gentle?
What is the sound of gentle?
What is the touch of gentle?
And then with these qualities,
Feel them settle into your skin,
Into the tissues,
Deep into the bones,
Into the very center of your being.
Feel gentle.
Be gentle with the breath.
Be gentle with your expectations.
Take a few more breaths into this gentle space.
And now in your mind,
Hear the words.
I am gentle to myself and to others.
I radiate the quality of gentle as I go about my day.
I feel gentle in every way.
Take another gentle breath in and a gentle breath out.
And now I will count down from five again.
And you'll feel more awake,
But more ready to go.
To access this new place of ease.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Gently lift your gaze.
Notice something in the room around you.
Feel the touch of the air in your nose as you breathe in and out.
May you feel the access to this field of gentleness as you go about your day.
With hands together at heart space,
Bow your head.
Namaste.
