Transcript

This is a meditation on whole body breathing.

Let's begin.

Allow your body to deeply relax into your seat or the floor or the bed where you're lying and allow any tension that you notice to soften.

You can use your exhale to help remove or to carry away any tension that you're noticing in your body.

And we'll begin to start with a whole body breathing practice.

In this practice,

You'll remain both alert and relaxed.

Start by taking in one full deep breath and exhaling a little longer than the inhale.

Again,

One full deep breath and extending the exhale longer than the inhale.

And as you notice the breath,

Allow it to move your body as you inhale.

And allow it to move your body as you exhale.

Recognize that there's nothing that you need to do.

You just need to be there allowing your breath to move your body.

You aren't controlling the breath,

You're just allowing it.

Now as you breathe in,

Imagine that your whole body is breathing in.

And as you breathe out,

Imagine your whole body breathing out.

The whole body is feeling with breath as you breathe in.

And the whole body is releasing as you exhale.

Continue to breathe like this.

Breathing in,

Your whole body is breathing in.

And breathing out,

Your whole body is breathing out.

Breathing in,

And breathing out.

And anytime you notice that your mind is scattered or distracted,

Just return to this feeling of your full body breath.

Now with your next exhale,

Allow your body to be still for just a moment.

And notice the stillness in your body.

And as you notice the stillness,

You may also notice the aliveness in your body.

By allowing your breath and your body to naturally breathe you,

You can start to notice the sensations of aliveness that were there,

That were distracted by thought or by motion and doing.

Now,

Just allow yourself to have a few more full body breaths as you're breathing in,

Your whole body is breathing in.

As you're breathing out,

Your whole body is breathing out.

A few more moments again.

In and out.

Whole body breath.

Now notice this energy that you have cultivated by deepening your breath and your whole body breathing.

And stay aware of this energy as you open your eyes slowly and gently,

Gradually bringing in the world around into your awareness.

And before you get up and move,

Just let yourself move gently in the position you're in now.

Perhaps wiggling your fingers and toes,

Rolling your neck and your shoulders and your head,

Flexing your feet and just notice how does your body feel right now in this moment.

And see if you can practice a whole body breathing breath experience as you walk through your day.

You might have a moment in your day where you bring attention to yourself in the moment and you just take a few full body breaths in and out and see how that can bring energy and aliveness to you as you walk through your day.

Have a beautiful day or a sweet sleep and take good care of your body and your breath and your sweet self.

Many blessings.
