We all have a tendency to put things off until tomorrow, from course work or form filling, to house projects or DIY. But the more we put off, the bigger the task becomes. Listening to this meditation will motivate and inspire you to start, progress and complete tasks. This recording is designed to guide you down into a deep state of physical and emotional relaxation.
So never listen to this recording if you're driving or operating machinery.
Take a few moments now to either sit or lie down.
Make yourself comfortable,
That's right.
Take a gentle deep breath in and out and allow your eyes to close.
Just allow your eyes to close.
As we start the relaxation procedure,
You can allow your mind to wander down through your body,
Through your hips and through your legs,
Down into your feet.
Become aware of the sensations within the muscles of the feet and imagine that the feet are becoming heavier.
Imagine the feet are becoming as heavy as lead.
Once you imagine this heaviness increasing,
So the muscles are relaxing and as the muscles relax at their own pace,
So they become heavier.
Allow your lower legs to become heavier.
The knees,
The thighs,
The muscles switching off,
Releasing,
Relaxing.
Move your awareness to your stomach.
Release and relax your stomach muscles.
The chest,
All the way down your back,
All the way down your sides.
Releasing,
Relaxing,
Becoming heavier.
Become aware of the weight of your hands and your fingers and your thumbs.
Imagine your hands and fingers and thumbs becoming heavier and heavier.
Now the arms,
Up through the elbows,
Up into the shoulders.
Loosen and drop your shoulders.
And as you do,
Your arms become heavier and heavier.
Relax your neck.
Allow the muscles around and behind your neck to soften and loosen.
Limp,
Soft,
Relaxed.
Relax the muscles in your jaw,
The mouth and the tongue,
The cheeks,
The eyes,
The forehead.
You can even imagine the scalp is relaxing.
And become aware of the weight of your entire body.
And imagine yourself sinking deeper,
Becoming heavier,
More and more relaxed.
Deeper and deeper relaxed.
Deeper,
Ever deeper relaxed.
This is your time.
This recording is just for you here,
In this moment.
Dealing with procrastination.
Dealing with you putting things off.
This is your time to take control as you sink deeper and deeper relaxed.
Ever since the day you were born,
You've learned and experienced something every moment of your life.
And all those experiences have been stored away on the back of your mind in the form of mental images.
Every second of your life is imprinted there.
And there's a wonderful,
Powerful,
Unique part of you.
Your inner mind.
Your unconscious mind that not only has full access to those mental images,
But full access when requested to all your skills,
Your abilities,
Your resources.
Access to the parts of you that already know just what to do.
And just how to do it.
In a few moments,
You'll hear me count down from 10 to 1.
And with each slow descending number between 10 and 1,
You're becoming one tenth more relaxed.
Just 10% more relaxed with each slow descending number.
Each descending number will help you to drift one tenth deeper into that wonderful state of relaxation that you may find very familiar.
That in any event becomes deeper and deeper as we go on.
As I count down,
You may find yourself drifting.
It may seem as if at times you're floating.
Floating down.
Down deeper.
Down into the part of yourself that contains everything you need to achieve anything you wish.
And as you begin to pay more and more attention to your inner feelings,
To all your resources and skills,
As you begin to pay more and more attention to your inner skills,
So you're drifting deeper and deeper relaxed.
Drifting deeper down into the trance.
So ready.

All the way down.
Deep.
Deep down relaxed.
Deeper and deeper down relaxed.
As you continue to drift deeper,
You may find at times that your mind wanders off.
This is of no concern.
It doesn't matter what you think of.
It doesn't matter where you drift.
My voice will go with you.
My voice will be drifting there with you.
So that you'll continue to benefit from positive,
Beneficial suggestions.
No matter where you are.
No matter where you drift.
In a few moments,
You'll hear me say the word.
Now.
And whenever you hear me say the word.
Now.
Any remaining tension is simply melting away.
Leaving your body as every muscle in your body releases and relaxes just a little more.
Just a little more.
Allowing your body to sink a little deeper.
To become a little heavier.
To become a little more comfortable too.
And there may be times during this recording that your body becomes so perfectly comfortable.
So pleasantly comfortable you may not even be aware of it.
There may be times that you're not even aware of your body at all.
So ready.
Now.
If you have any remaining unnecessary tension,
Simply let it melt away.
Now.
Let the sound and sensation take you deeper and deeper relaxed.
Now.
Slower.
Ever slower.
Deeper.
Ever deeper.
Heavier.
And heavier.
Now.
As you continue to drift deeper.
As you continue to relax.
I want you to know that one of the most wonderful things about this form of relaxation is that in this slow,
Comfortable,
Heavy state you can do anything you wish.
Like in a pleasant dream.
You can drift away any place.
Any situation you desire.
You can experience any kind of pleasant sensations you wish.
You can even go back in time.
Back in time to a pleasant memory.
Drift back to something wonderful you haven't thought of in a long,
Long while.
So that once again you can enjoy that experience with all the feelings that you had back then.
Deeper.
And deeper relaxed.
You have become so naturally relaxed.
So comfortably relaxed.
Your mind is so open and receptive to what I say.
That everything that I suggest to you that's recognized to be positive,
Healthy and beneficial will be accepted by your unconscious mind.
When your unconscious mind recognizes any of the following suggestions to be healthy and positive and beneficial,
It accepts them gladly.
Allowing them to become part of you.
Part of your inner world.
Part of your everyday realities.
Changing the way you think,
Feel,
Act and react in a positive,
Healthy,
Beneficial manner.
Find yourself now in a special place.
A place of safety.
Of comfort.
Of security.
So as you relax now in that special place in your mind,
You start to think about life.
You know that life is about choices.
When you get up in the morning,
You choose what to wear and what to eat.
You choose what you want to see on the television.
You choose when you want to go to bed.
You choose when you want to waken up.
You choose how to go about your daily routines.
And you choose where you want to shop.
And you know of course that there are consequences to life's choices.
Some choices result in positive feelings.
Feelings of comfort,
Pleasure and satisfaction.
Whilst other choices result in negative feelings.
Feelings of discomfort,
Unease and even stress.
Are you aware of any choice that has caused you negative feelings?
Are you aware of any choice that has caused you positive feelings?
Which feeling would you rather have?
There are many stories about many people whose procrastination meant lost opportunities,
Unachieved goals and failure.
Feelings of negativity,
Anxiety,
Unease and stress.
Your unconscious mind already knows this.
Now,
Think of something that you're having a hard time getting around to doing.
Think of something that you've been putting off.
Do you notice what negative emotions you feel?
Perhaps unease,
Anxiety,
Perhaps even irritation with yourself.
Whatever you feel,
Notice where it is in your body.
Become more aware of it.
Maybe you have a picture in your mind.
Is the picture bright or dim?
Is it colourful or black and white?
Is it big or small?
Notice now as you change the size of the picture or change its brightness or change its colours from black and white to colour,
It becomes more intense.
Play around with this image and adjust it to make sure you have maximum unease.
Fill your mind with it.
Now you can choose to delay for one second or for one minute or even one hour or a day.
You can even choose to delay for one month or one year or even longer.
How does that make you feel?
Let's play a game and imagine that we can stop time.
What do you think of that?
How do you see that?
With time stopped now,
How much discomfort do you feel in just one second as you decide to delay?
You can start at the beginning of one second and move to the end of one second and notice where those feelings are most intense.
Do they fill the whole second?
Notice them in your body and feel the intensity of them weighing down on you.
Notice as you approach the end of one second how they intensify.
Take as much time as you need to experience this because time has stopped.
Now if that's how you feel in just one second,
How will you feel by delaying by one minute?
With time stopped,
One minute is a very long time compared to one second.
Think about it.
One second repeated sixty times is a lot of discomfort and unease to endure.
Now if that's how you feel in one minute,
How will you feel by delaying for one hour when time has stopped?
Now one hour is sixty times the feelings of one minute and one minute is sixty times the feelings of one second and that's a very,
Very long time to feel uncomfortable.
That's a very,
Very long time to feel stressed and uneasy.
I'm sure you're agreeing.
Just imagine the intensity of those feelings now after one hour.
Now if one hour is a very,
Very long time to feel unease,
Just how bad can you feel when the clock has stopped for a full day?
For one day's feelings of unease are twenty-four times the feelings of one hour,
Which is sixty times the feeling of one minute,
Which is sixty times the feelings of one second.
And I know that you'll agree that this is just too much discomfort,
Too much unease to suffer.
And your unconscious mind knows that this is just too much.
Now why would anyone want to suffer that much discomfort?
Why would anyone want to suffer that much unease?
Would you?
Now let's leave the world where time has stopped for a few moments.
And now think of a strongly motivated experience you once had,
Or one you can imagine you had,
So that it is really attractive and compelling to you,
One that offers great rewards.
Become aware of any feelings of satisfaction,
Happiness,
Confidence.
That's right.
Think of that strongly motivated experience you once had,
Or one that you can imagine that you had,
So that it is really attractive and compelling to you,
One that offers you great rewards.
Become aware of any feelings of satisfaction,
Happiness,
Confidence.
Note the location of this image in your mind's eye.
Now think of that thing you find hard to get around to doing,
That thing you keep putting off.
Don't think of doing it.
Just imagine what it will look like and feel like when you have completed that task.
What benefits and rewards do you see having completed that task?
What expressions do you see on your face?
How are you standing,
Proud,
Motivated,
Confident?
How does it feel having completed that task?
Good.
Now move this image to the same location in your mind's eye as the motivated image you created a few moments ago.
Make this image bigger,
Brighter and more colourful.
Does it make it even more compelling?
Add in some words of encouragement from your internal voice.
Add in some inspiring music.
Notice how these changes affect your feelings.
Play around with that image until it gives you maximum motivation from the experience and ask your unconscious mind now to remember what that image looks like,
What it sounds like,
What it feels like.
Good.
So how do you feel about doing the task now?
And as you decide to act now,
A pleasant,
Joyous feeling of satisfaction and achievement fills your mind and body in just one second.
And with time moving forward now,
Notice how these positive feelings flow forward along the path of time.
One second of pleasure and confidence becoming one minute of pleasure and confidence.
One minute of pleasure and confidence becoming one hour of pleasure and confidence.
One hour of pleasure and confidence becoming one day of pleasure and confidence.
And one day of pleasure and confidence becoming as much pleasure as far into the future as you can see.
Now would you want that much pleasure and satisfaction in your life?
Simply decide to do those things that you usually put off.
By listening to this recording,
You have already made a decision and a choice.
A choice to bring about a positive change in your life.
A choice to do the things you usually put off.
A choice to end procrastination.
And sooner or later,
You will feel really good about that right now.
Let your unconscious mind accept the decisions and changes so that you have much more desire.
Allow those changes to become part of your values and beliefs,
Part of your everyday experience.
Deep down within your unconscious mind,
It knows what's good for you.
And you trust it to guide you and to motivate you to action and to achieve your goals,
To achieve your outcomes.
With these new values and beliefs,
Imagine now what your life would be like if you delivered.
Imagine that you're looking at the new image of yourself.
Confident,
Successful and reassured,
Having achieved your task.
Look at your posture.
How will you interact with people around you differently?
How will you go about your daily business differently?
Now float into that image of yourself and feel the difference in you.
Notice how much better you feel.
What would you say to yourself?
Feel the happiness and joy.
Feel the enthusiasm and the energy.
How would you look at the world?
How would you look at others?
Feel the new respect that you have for yourself.
For you have drawn a line.
You have reclaimed your power,
Retaken control.
You are always now in control.
In a few moments,
As we near the end of this recording,
You'll hear me in a few moments count slowly from one to ten.
With each ascending number between one and ten,
You become a little bit more aware and alert and awake as your body returns to normal everyday weight,
Temperature,
Energy and sensations.
At five,
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
At eight,
Gently open your eyes and at ten,
You're fully back here.
Fully back,
Rested and refreshed and relaxed,
Bringing back a sense of power,
Of change,
Of positivity,
Of drive,
Determination and motivation.
Bringing back the realization that you can do anything you put your mind to.

Bringing back a sense of well-being,
