Do you overthink or over-analyse? This can be an ongoing challenge for many people and the vicious circle of repetitive thoughts can dominate the day. Very often we spend too much time going over things that happened in the past or things that have yet to happen in the future. If this is an issue for you then this recording will help dissolve the overthinking habit and create a bit of "thinking space" and time for the present moment.

Take some time to sit or lie down and make yourself comfortable.

Take a deep breath in and out and relax.

And we'll start the gentle slow procedure down into deeper and deeper levels of relaxation.

There is nothing for you to do,

Nothing to think about,

Nowhere to go.

Just listen to the sound of my voice.

The sound of my voice that helps you to drift deeper and deeper as we go on.

Notice the muscles in your face,

The forehead,

The temples,

The eyes,

The cheeks,

The mouth,

The tongue,

The jaw.

Simply by placing your awareness in these areas,

The muscles start to switch off.

They start to relax.

Relax the forehead,

Relax the temples,

Relax your eyes,

Relax the cheeks,

Relax your mouth,

Relax your tongue,

Relax your jaw.

Imagine the muscles of the face smoothing out,

Releasing,

Softening,

Relaxing.

Move your awareness to your neck,

Shoulders,

Upper arms,

Elbows,

Lower arms,

Wrists,

Hands,

Fingers and thumbs.

Simply by moving your awareness to those areas,

They're starting to relax.

Relax your neck,

Relax your shoulders,

Relax your upper arms,

Relax your elbows.

Relax your lower arms,

Relax your wrists,

Relax your hands,

Fingers and thumbs.

Good.

Move your awareness to your chest,

Your stomach,

Your upper back,

Your lower back,

Your hips.

Simply by moving your awareness to those areas,

They're starting to relax.

Relax your chest,

Relax your stomach,

Relax your upper back,

Relax your lower back,

Relax your hips.

Good.

Move your awareness to your thighs,

Your knees,

Your calves,

Your ankles,

Your heels,

Feet and toes.

Simply by moving your awareness to those areas,

They're starting to relax.

Relax your thighs,

Relax your knees,

Relax your calves,

Relax your ankles.

Relax your heels,

Feet and toes.

Good.

As I work my way back up through those areas in your body,

Become aware of them.

Become aware of the weight of the muscles and gently allow the muscles to become heavier.

Imagine the muscles becoming heavier.

Toes,

Feet,

Heels,

Heavier,

Ankles,

Calves,

Knees,

Heavier,

Thighs,

Hips,

Stomach,

Heavier,

Chest,

Upper back,

Lower back,

Heavier,

Neck,

Shoulders,

Upper arms,

Heavier,

Elbow,

Lower arms,

Wrists,

Heavier,

Hands,

Fingers,

Thumbs,

Heavier.

Sinking down deeper and deeper down into the chair or the bed.

Imagine that your body's becoming heavier and heavier.

Imagine that your body in its own time,

At its own pace,

Is becoming as heavy as lead.

Good.

In a moment,

You'll hear me count down from 10 to 1.

And with each slow rhythmic number between 10 and 1,

You're becoming one-tenth more relaxed.

Just 10% more relaxed with each slow descending number.

Each descending number will help you to drift one-tenth deeper into that wonderful state of relaxation that you may find so familiar that in any event becomes deeper and deeper as we go on.

As I count down,

You may become aware of a pleasant feeling.

It may seem at times as though you're floating,

Floating down,

Down into your own inner world,

Down into the part of yourself that contains all your resources,

Your abilities and your strengths,

But also down into a place of safety,

Of security,

Of comfort and heaviness,

Of peace and tranquility.

And as you begin to pay more and more attention to all those sensations,

So you're drifting ever deeper relaxed,

Drifting ever deeper down into the trance.

So ready.

Ten.

Nine.

Eight.

Drifting down.

Seven.

Six.

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Deeper and deeper still.

Two.

And one.

Deeper.

Deeper down relaxed.

Deeper.

Deeper.

And deeper down relaxed.

And as you drift deeper at your own pace,

In your own time,

You may find that your mind wanders.

It doesn't matter where you go.

It doesn't matter where you drift.

My voice will be there with you.

My voice will be there drifting with you so that you'll continue to benefit from positive,

Healthy,

Beneficial suggestions.

No matter where you are,

No matter where you drift.

For in a few moments time,

You'll hear me say the word,

Now.

And whenever you hear me say the word,

Now.

Imagine a wave of relaxation flowing down from the top of your head,

Down through every muscle in your body,

Right down to your toes.

Imagine any unnecessary tension simply melting away.

Any remaining unnecessary tension simply melting away.

And your body sinks a little deeper,

A little heavier,

A little more comfortable too.

And there may be times during this recording that your body becomes so perfectly comfortable,

You may not even be aware of it.

There may be times you're not even aware of your body at all.

So if you have any remaining unnecessary tension,

You can simply let it melt away.

Now let the sound and sensation flow down through you,

Releasing and relaxing.

Now slower and slower.

Higher and heavier.

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Now and now deeply relaxed.

Your mind is open and receptive to suggestions.

Your unconscious mind,

Knowing what's best for you,

Will only accept suggestions when they're recognized to be healthy,

Beneficial and positive.

And when your unconscious mind recognizes any of the following suggestions to be healthy,

Positive and beneficial,

It accepts them gladly,

Allowing them to become part of you,

Part of your inner world,

Your everyday existence,

Your inner realities.

Changing the way you think,

Act,

React and behave in a healthy,

Positive,

Beneficial manner.

So as you sit or lie there,

All the way deep down and comfortable,

You'll find that there's nothing for you to do except to listen to the sound of my voice,

The sound of my voice that helps you to relax as I speak directly to your unconscious mind on matters of importance,

Importance to you.

Peaceful,

Still,

Serene,

Quiet.

What pictures do these words create in your mind?

Peaceful,

What feelings do these words create in your body?

See the pictures.

Feel the feelings.

Peaceful,

Still,

Serene,

Quiet.

This is how your mind can be when you choose.

This is how your thinking can be when you choose.

Peaceful,

Still,

Quiet.

Many of us have repeating thoughts of the past,

Quiet.

You are in complete control of your thoughts.

And your thoughts are clear and in the present moment.

No longer thinking about thinking.

No longer thinking about overthinking.

No longer overthinking about overthinking.

Anytime you notice yourself drifting into overthinking,

You simply stop and say gently to yourself.

Peaceful,

Still,

Serene,

Quiet.

And your mind slows.

And you return to the moment with a quiet mind and a relaxed energy.

You feel at peace with yourself.

You are at peace with your thoughts.

Your unconscious mind is now able to notice a thought that is necessary and relevant.

And a thought that is unnecessary and unneeded.

So you no longer race from one thought to the next thought.

The less thoughts that you have,

The more they are relevant thoughts.

And the more that you can decide what to do with them.

Your thoughts,

Therefore,

Are becoming more creative,

More peaceful,

And much more in tune with the moment.

Your mind will think less,

But curiously will get more done.

Therefore,

You find it easier to relax and unwind.

It's easier to find the answers you are looking for.

Because with your mind quiet and in control,

And in the moment,

Everything is falling into place.

This certainty feels wonderful,

Powerful.

You seem to have more time.

You are calmer during stressful moments.

You are able to see solutions to challenges much quicker and easier than before.

Your memory is improving.

You are a better listener.

This quiet,

Peaceful,

Still,

Serene,

And calm mind helps you to feel better,

To cope better,

To be a healthier,

Happier person.

Everything you choose can now be attained because you are letting it happen.

There is no longer any struggle.

You have given up the unnecessary thinking of the past.

You have given up the unnecessary thinking of the future.

You are living in the moment.

Your mind is clear,

And you are enjoying being in the moment and in control of your thoughts.

Peaceful,

Still,

Serene,

Quiet.

Remember the pictures that these words create in your mind.

Peaceful,

Remember the feelings that these words create in your body.

See the pictures.

Feel the feelings.

This is how your mind can be when you choose.

This is how your thinking can be when you choose.

Bringing back the pictures and the feelings associated with them.

And the unnecessary thoughts simply melt away.

The unneeded thinking simply melts away.

And you return to the present.

To this ever-presence moment.

And your thoughts are calm and quiet.

You are in control of your thoughts.

Relaxed,

Confident,

Powerful.

You are in control of your thoughts.

Always in control.

As we near the end of this recording,

You can choose to wake or fall asleep.

If you choose to wake,

Follow the following instructions.

And if you choose to sleep,

Ignore the following instructions.

So ready.

Ready to wake if you choose to.

Coming back up.
