So make yourself comfortable sitting down,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a slightly deeper breath in and out,
Closing down the eyes and connecting with your breath,
Noticing the flow in and out,
In and down and up and out.
At times of uncertainty,
Anxiety and stress,
Time seems to slow down.
At times what we're experiencing seems to go on for so long,
And this is natural.
Two people can experience the same movie.
One person who's not enjoying it thinks that that two-hour movie feels like 10 hours.
The person who's lost in the movie,
Engrossed in the movie,
Afterwards feels that that two hours felt like 20 minutes.
This experience of time speeding up can be achieved through relaxation,
Through mindfulness,
Through focusing on the breath.
At times of anxiety or stress or uncertainty,
Take some time to relax.
It may seem counterproductive at first,
But the time you spend in that uncertainty starts to speed up.
You start to get back in touch with resources.
You start to feel more in control.
And before you know it,
That brief episode has passed.
Relaxation speeds up the passage of time.
And with that thought in mind,
You can take a gentle stretch,
A slightly deeper in and out breath,
And open your eyes,
Returning to the day.
