So,
Taking some time to sit down,
Make yourself comfortable,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a nice gentle deeper breath in and out and closing down the eyes,
Allowing the eyes to rest and relax and connect with your breath,
The flow in and down and up and out.
As human beings we often have an inner critic,
A negative nagging voice in our head.
Perhaps there's one or two statements that you continually hear.
Negative self-talk.
I'd like you to allow this voice to change.
Perhaps you can think of a negative phrase that you often repeat to yourself.
Many people say,
I'm not enough,
I'm unworthy.
Perhaps you can change that voice to one that you don't take so seriously.
What would happen if that inner voice,
That inner critical voice,
Sounded like Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck or Homer Simpson?
A voice that wasn't so serious.
A voice that you can't take seriously.
Do that now.
Notice the difference.
Your homework from this session is to notice any negative thinking and in the noticing,
Gently change the voice.
You'll find this a hugely positive thing to do.
And you can bring this technique back with you to use at any point.
Having a gentle stretch now,
A slightly deeper breath in and out,
And opening the eyes,
Returning to the day.
