Welcome everyone.

My name is Andrea Ashley and I am so grateful to have you here with me today.

I'll have you start by coming into a comfortable seated position with a lengthened spine and hands placed on the knees or thighs.

Just take a few moments to do this now.

Find a spot that works for you.

A place you can settle into without any distractions for the next 20 minutes or so.

Once you have settled in,

Begin to bring your awareness inward.

Easier said than done.

But just take a few moments here to begin to let go of any stress,

Anything that may have happened to you earlier today.

Let go of any tension,

Any worry.

Again so much easier said than done for most of us.

Just take some time to try to release it a little right now.

To put it all down.

More about this time just for you.

Begin to bring your awareness to your breath.

Not making any changes to it.

Just simply observing the inhales and exhales.

Maybe noticing how and where the breath is flowing.

Just in the chest or in the belly,

But shallow or deep,

Slow or fast.

Letting the awareness of everything else fade away as you focus solely on your breath.

If at any time during this meditation you feel distracted or maybe you've drifted off,

Once you become aware of this just gently bring your focus back to your breath.

Noticing it to anchor you in the present moment.

Today we are focusing on the throat chakra.

In Sanskrit it's called Vishuddha which means pure or purification or especially pure.

The Vishuddha is the fifth chakra out of the seven primary chakras along the spinal column and is the first of the upper spiritual chakras.

It is located in the throat and is associated with the color blue.

The throat chakra is all about accepting and speaking your truth,

Expressing your authentic voice and seeking honesty.

If your throat chakra is blocked you may experience an inability to communicate or speak your truth perhaps fearful of what others may think.

You may have feelings of insecurity or timidness and may struggle to find your purpose.

You may not be able to listen to others or are unable to keep your word or promises or maybe even telling lies.

If the throat chakra is overactive you may be overly talkative or verbally aggressive.

Whereas when the throat chakra is balanced we express ourselves openly and honestly and are able to communicate and speak our truth.

I love this chakra.

I love all the chakras but especially resonate with this one.

I think we all could do with more truth speaking in our lives for ourselves.

Sometimes we are the least honest with ourselves but of course definitely being more honest with others.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath if you've lost it.

I will now begin to integrate intentional breathing.

So just take a moment and bring the awareness to the throat area.

As you inhale lengthen the throat by looking up towards the ceiling slightly and as you exhale bring the head back to neutral center.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Continuing to work with the breath we'll change the direction of our head movement now from up to down to side to side.

Starting with the head at the center take a deep inhale here and as you exhale begin to turn the head to look to the right all the way around to the right shoulder if that's comfortable for you.

If not that is completely okay.

Take it easy.

This should feel gentle and kind.

On your inhale you'll be back at center and as you exhale you'll turn to the left and if you like you can make a nice audible exhale out through the throat on every exhale big inhaling to center and exhaling to a side continuing back and forth.

So we'll start together with the head at center inhale and exhale to the right.

Inhale to center and exhale to the left.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale to center big exhale through the mouth.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale exhale.

Inhale and exhale out through the mouth bringing the head back to center if it's at one side and begin to bring your attention to the throat chakra envisioning a blue light in the center of your neck.

Observe how it looks.

Notice the shade of blue,

The size,

The shape.

Notice any and all visual aspects of your throat chakra.

Bringing your attention now to how it feels.

Are there any physical sensations?

Notice any and all sensations.

Notice how it is functioning.

Is it moving?

If so,

Is it slow or fast?

In what direction?

Is it a large open beam of light or a small dim light?

Observe what is coming up for you in this chakra.

Bring your attention back to your breath,

Breathing in through the nose and breathing out through the mouth.

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Continuing this breathing pattern,

Making that nice audible exhale every time you breathe out.

With every inhale,

Try to visualize breathing in blue light,

Breathing in blue light into your throat chakra,

Watching as the glow from this light starts to gently expand.

With every in breath,

You pull in more fresh blue light,

Allowing it to fill your throat chakra and spread outwards,

Breathing in expression,

Truth,

And creativity.

Breathing in beautiful blue light,

Breathing out fear,

Breathing in honesty,

Breathing out lies.

Breathing in open communication,

Breathing out gossip,

Breathing in integrity of your word,

Breathing out speaking without merit,

Breathing in beautiful blue pure light,

Breathing out dishonesty.

Continue to breathe slowly and deeply and silently repeat after me.

I stand up for what I believe.

I say no when I need to.

I am open and honest in all that I say.

I have the right to speak my truth.

I communicate my feelings with ease.

I express my gratitude of life.

I know when it is time to listen.

I experience clarity every day.

Whenever you feel ready to bring a little bit of movement back into the body,

You can place one hand on your throat and one hand on your heart if that feels okay with you.

Just take a moment here to thank yourself for your practice.

Sending yourself love and gratitude.

Wishing you a beautiful day.

Namaste.
