This is a guided meditation for practice number two.

Release the concern for looking good.

Begin by finding a comfortable seat.

With the eyes open,

Take a moment to take in the room around you,

Noticing now what you see,

What you hear,

And if there's anything else in the room that you sense.

And now gently closing the eyes,

Turning the gaze inward.

Feel your body right here in this moment.

Allow yourself to fully arrive in this body,

In this moment.

Begin to watch the breath.

Watching the breath flow in and flow out.

I'd like for you to call to mind the last time you felt the fear of criticism,

A time where you felt you weren't going to be smart enough,

Strong enough,

Good enough.

Gently combing through this experience and beginning to feel how it feels in your body.

Where does the fear live?

What does it feel like?

Is it tight in the chest or the belly,

The throat or the hands,

Tingling or burning?

Is there a restlessness?

Just noticing,

Allowing yourself to get really clear.

Where does fear live?

Our desire to avoid this fear is what keeps us hooked on caring about what other people think.

It's what keeps us hiding and playing small.

Bringing into your mind's eye the most recent time you can remember that this fear caused you to play small.

That this fear convinced you that you weren't good enough.

Noticing any stories in your head that come up.

You can name those stories.

Applying this all to be here right now.

Shining a light on your fear,

The fear that holds us back from being our full present self begins to dissolve the fear.

And as the fear dissolves,

We can start to show up.

Continue to scan the body for any physical sensations of fear.

If you feel something,

Name it.

If there's a storyline that comes across the mind,

Name that.

This is the practice.

Repeat.

Taking now these words,

I am safe.

I am whole.

I am loved.

Bringing your awareness back now,

You can gently open the eyes again.

Namaste.

I really liked this meditation! It forced me to look at my inner critic head on! Well done! Thank you!
