Forgiveness is an act of self-love.
It's a way to regain your power,
Peace of mind,
And move on from the past.
When you forgive others and yourself,
We become more compassionate.
We accept and release,
And self-love grows.
When our mind is focused on a painful incident,
We're living in the past.
The need to replace situations in our mind that contain shame and blame keeps us trapped in pain,
And we make the memories stronger every time that we relive it.
When you're ready,
Get comfortable and gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
With the next breath,
Notice and release any tension from your body.
Allow your shoulders to drop and your jaw to soften.
Take another deep breath and release.
In this next breath,
Identify anyone that you're still holding resentment towards.
Someone who has hurt you in the past,
And this can even include yourself.
Notice where in your body you are holding that pain.
In this safe space,
Give yourself permission to communicate to that person or yourself anything that you're still holding onto.
Share with them how angry you are,
How much they hurt you.
Anything that you've been holding in,
Now is the time to move it up and out of your body.
Remember you are safe.
Nobody can hurt you,
And communicating your raw emotions doesn't make you a bad person.
Let any emotions express.
Feel free to move your body,
Make sounds,
Talk out loud.
As you're communicating your feelings,
Imagine that you're collecting your energy from that experience,
Collecting your voice,
Your light,
Your power,
Helping you feel whole again,
Strong,
Powerful.
Within the words,
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive myself.
I forgive myself.
I forgive myself.
Allow forgiveness to move throughout your body,
Mind,
And spirit.
As you're repeating this mantra,
Imagine that your whole body,
Including your heart,
Is starting to soften and open.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
Allow the forgiveness to bring down those protective walls.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
Now give gratitude for the growth,
Lessons,
And healing that has come from this experience.
Are there any last words you have for the other person or for yourself?
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Deep breath in and exhale.
One more.
Deep breath in and exhale.
When you're ready,
Slowly start to come back to this present moment,
Noticing sounds,
Sensations.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Notice how you feel after practicing forgiveness.
Is there anything that came up during this meditation that surprised you?
Take some time to journal about your experience.
And also give yourself thanks for giving yourself this gift of forgiveness.
Take some time to journal about your experience.
Take some time to journal about your experience.
Take some time to journal about your experience.
Take some time to journal about your experience.
