Short Equineamate Practice Let's begin this practice by sitting on a chair or on a cushion.
If sitting on a chair,
Try to sit on a straight back chair so that your back is elevated and erect,
But not stiff.
Place your feet firmly on the floor.
If seated on a cushion,
Find a comfortable way of crossing your legs.
Gently close your eyes if you feel comfortable.
Now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
In.
Out.
Observe your breath without trying to change it or regulate it.
In this meditation,
We will practice some equineamate phrases.
Equineamate is a virtue developed by Buddhist meditation and mindfulness practice.
It refers to profound quality of strength and evenness of mind undisturbed by emotional upheavals.
Let's start.
May I open to this moment just as it is.
May my heart be at ease with the conditions of my life.
As much as I would like things to be different,
Things are the way they are in this moment.
May I open to the flow of joys and sorrows with understanding and equineamity.
May I open to this moment just as it is.
May my heart be at ease with the conditions of my life.
As much as I would like things to be different,
Things are the way they are in this moment.
May I open to the flow of joys and sorrows with understanding and equineamity.
May I open to this moment just as it is.
May my heart be at ease with the conditions of my life.
As much as I would like things to be different,
Things are the way they are in this moment.
May I open to the flow of joys and sorrows with understanding and equineamity.
And now,
Let's open our eyes and close this practice.
And remember,
You can always bring equineamity to the emotional upheavals of your life.
