Congrats mama on bringing life into this world.
You are amazing.
In whichever way,
Shape or form that happened in,
You are amazing.
And with that amazement comes great responsibility and reliability.
So now I want you to wholeheartedly believe and do this without feeling any guilt because you deserve this quiet time for you to calm your mind and happily return back to your baby.
Because you are enough,
You have done enough and you deserve this time for you.
So when you're ready,
I invite you to close down your eyes.
Get yourself into a comfortable position.
You can sit up or lay down.
You can have your baby laying on you if they can't settle by themselves.
Bring your shoulders away from your ears.
Allow the space in between your eyebrows to relax.
Unclench your jaw.
Take a deep breath into the belly.
Exhale,
Relax.
Melting your body into the earth.
Inhale in.
Exhale,
Allow the muscles to relax further and further.
Inhale,
Descending your mind deeper and deeper into your body,
Away from your thoughts.
Bathing in the sensations of calm and serenity.
Allowing your body to fully let go and your mind to explore all the little nooks and crannies throughout your body.
Bringing your attention to the crown of your head.
Drawing a line to the third eye space in between the eyebrows to the tip of the nose,
The chin,
Breastbone,
The navel,
Pubic bone,
Around to the tailbone.
Drawing that line long up the spine to the back of the head,
All the way around to the crown of the head where we started.
Noticing the contact points of your body on the earth.
Feeling the muscles completely relax and gravity pushing your body into the earth.
And notice the support you receive from underneath,
The ground holding you up,
Pushing you back up.
With a deep breath in,
Feeling grounded with the earth beneath,
Feeling stable in your mind and stable in your body.
Noticing the effortless flow of your breath as your lungs inflate and deflate with the natural flow of your body.
Now I invite you to think about maybe negative thoughts you've been experiencing as a new mother.
And if you can handle these thoughts,
If you can sit in them,
I invite you to recognize them for what they are.
They are just thoughts,
Nothing more.
Not allowing your mind to delve into the story of the thought,
Not allowing it to create an emotion from the story as a physical response from the body.
Just seeing the thought for what it is,
Whether it's true or not,
It doesn't matter.
We're not here to label.
Just seeing that thought for simply just a thought,
Acknowledging and accepting it,
Then moving the thought on,
Getting that thought out of your mind,
Allowing the thought to dissolve with the breath.
Now feeling into your body.
Is there anywhere in your body that has been taken over by an emotion?
The thought has manifested into emotion,
Manifesting into a physical response in your body.
If so,
I want you to breathe into this area.
Visualizing your breath,
Intertwining around the emotion and the physical response,
Detaching that response from your body.
Using your breath to loosen up the knots of emotion tied onto that part of your body.
With your exhale breath,
Exhale long and slow,
Allowing the feeling to be dissolved with the breath,
Blowing that emotion away into the air,
Getting rid of it forever.
I will finish this meditation with some mama affirmation cards.
My postpartum body has made miracles happen and is incredibly beautiful exactly as it is.
Amidst the chaos of it all,
I find calm and my heart can be still.
I trust my instincts.
I ask for support when I need it without feeling guilty.
I am doing my best.
Thank you for joining me mama and I applaud you for being here today and encourage you to try to return every day because you deserve it.
