New Year’s Meditation For Transformation & Becoming New

Transcript

Hello and welcome to this meditation to help you slow down,

Come into your body,

And listen for where your energy is calling you as you stand between what has been and what is becoming.

This practice is here to help you meet yourself with honesty and trust and to support your natural becoming,

Your natural transformation,

One breath at a time.

So let's begin by arriving fully here and you can choose to sit or lie down,

Whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Allow your eyes to gently close or you can just soften your gaze and begin with a nice deep breath in through the nose and exhale gently through an open mouth.

And again,

Breathe in deeply through your nose and sigh out slowly through your open mouth.

And do that one more time,

Breathing in deeply and slowly through your nose,

Filling up your lungs and then let your jaw relax and let the breath out slowly through your open mouth.

And then beginning to breathe in and out through your nose slowly and completely and begin to soften your body,

Feeling all parts of your body beginning to relax,

Letting go of any bracing or armoring or protecting and inviting this sense of softness,

Becoming soft within.

And as your body softens,

Let the breath guide you deeper down into your own body and feel how you are supported,

Whether that's by the floor or the chair or even the earth beneath you.

Feel how you're supported and feel your entire body,

Your entire being beginning to land here,

Safe,

Held and completely present.

And beginning to shift your attention to your inner vision.

For you,

This might mean that you are looking out through your forehead,

Through your third eye space,

Utilizing your mind's eye and beginning to imagine out in front of you,

Three doors appearing.

And as these three doors appear,

Just notice how each one is glowing gently with its own energy.

To your left is the door to your past,

Straight ahead,

The door of the present moment and to your right is the door to your future.

And there's nothing you need to do just yet,

Simply breathe and notice each of these doors.

And in your mind's eye,

You may want to approach these doors,

Stepping up to each one,

Bringing curiosity with you as you do.

Start with the door on your left,

The door to your past,

Just stand in front of it and feel.

Is something unresolved here?

Does it pull you back?

Or does it feel complete,

Like this door is ready to dissolve?

Take a breath in and take a breath out as you just observe and notice what you're noticing.

And now turn your attention to the door of the present moment,

The middle door.

And again,

Just approach it with curiosity.

And as you do feel your breath,

Notice your body.

And as you attune to this door,

To the present moment,

Do you feel called to be here,

To stay here,

Or do you feel called to move on and just notice and take a breath in and out as you receive any impressions from this door of the present moment.

And now turn to the door to your future,

The one on the right.

Approach it,

Be curious and notice what you feel just by looking at this door,

Just by standing in front of it.

Is this door inviting to you?

Or does it feel locked shut?

What kind of energy is emanating off of this door?

And just observe it and notice how you respond.

Notice how your body,

Your energy responds.

And take a breath in and a breath out.

And now ask yourself,

Which of these three doors,

After just that initial short check-in,

Which door is calling your energy the most right now?

Where is life inviting you to place your attention?

And then when you feel drawn,

Slowly let yourself walk toward that door.

There's no need to rush.

Just let your body,

Let your intuition guide you to whichever door is calling you the most.

And as you approach this door,

When you arrive in front of this door,

You get to decide.

Do you want to stand in front of it and just observe it,

Just feel it?

Or do you want to open the door and look inside?

Or maybe you feel called to walk through this door and enter into whatever is behind it.

Whatever you choose,

Whatever feels right,

Trust it.

And we'll take the next couple of minutes for you to just be immersed in this experience,

Exploring past or this present moment or the future.

Let yourself sense it,

Feel it and listen to whatever is revealed.

Now begin to bring your attention back.

To your breath.

And as you breathe in and out,

Just making note of where you are and what's been revealed to you.

And consider what you want to bring with you from this experience.

What did you see or feel or learn?

And breathe that in,

Holding that intention to bring this experience with you.

And if you did walk through a door,

Allow yourself to walk out of that door and feel yourself coming fully back into your body,

Into the here and now.

Feel your breath flowing in and out.

And maybe even giving a little wiggle to your fingers and your toes.

You've just honored something sacred within you.

There are moments in time where we are at a threshold.

We are transforming and parts of us are dissolving.

And at the same time,

We are becoming something new all at once.

So this is sacred work and taking the time to understand and to feel into and to even follow where our energy is pulling us to the past,

Into the present or even into the future can support us in our becoming,

In our transformation.

So if you feel called to dive a little deeper,

I'm going to leave you with this journal prompt.

Which door called to me?

And what does that reveal about where I am and what I need most right now?

Let whatever comes through be enough.

Let it guide your next step,

However small or big it may seem.

And if that prompt does not resonate with you,

Let yourself write whatever comes.

Record your experience.

What did you see?

What did you feel?

What does it mean to you?

And again,

Know that this is sacred work.
