Hi,
I'm Amy,
And welcome to the Mind Management Meditation on Boosting Confidence.
Confidence is essential for success,
In work,
And in almost all aspects of our lives.
Some days we don't need any help with it,
But some days we simply need a confidence boost.
Interestingly enough,
The subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination,
So we can literally train our mind to be more confident.
Let's get started.
Sit comfortably,
Ideally with your eyes closed,
And take three deep breaths.
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
On your exhale,
Let go of any tension or frustration.
Now breathe normally,
In through your nose,
And out through your mouth or nose,
Whichever feels best for you.
Notice your posture.
Can you sit up taller?
Research shows that posture is linked to confidence.
If you sit or stand taller and stronger,
You'll encourage your brain to be more confident.
Imagine the top of your head being pulled up by a string.
You can also imagine there's a book on top of your head.
Push up into the book.
Think of whichever image works best for you.
While you're sitting tall,
Try and stay relaxed.
So let your forehead relax.
Let your jaw relax.
Let your shoulders relax down your back.
Move down to your stomach.
When we're feeling like things aren't going our way,
It often feels like knots in our stomach.
So just by noticing your stomach,
You may be able to let go of tension.
Now notice your hands.
Are they clenched or tight?
If so,
Try to let them relax.
Take a moment to do a physical check-in of your whole body.
Notice any tension and then try to relax it a bit.
Start at the top of your head and move down to your fingertips and to your toes.
And release any tightness.
Now let's focus on your breathing.
On every inhale,
Sit a little taller.
Embody confidence.
On every exhale,
Let tension,
Doubt,
Or anxiety dissipate.
Let every inhale be refreshing and energizing.
With every exhale,
Relax into confidence.
Every time you take a breath,
Feel strength and confidence building inside you.
Now maintain that feeling of strong confidence as you bring yourself back into the room.
Notice any sounds around you.
Start to move your fingers and toes.
And slowly stretch.
Now open your eyes.
Your body feels confident and remember your subconscious doesn't know the difference between imagination and reality.
So if you present yourself as confident,
Your mind will follow.
Take this confidence with you as you step into your day.
Thank you and we look forward to meditating with you again.
