Let's begin our journey by finding a position of comfort.
You can sit,
Lie down,
Dance,
And even take a walk.
It doesn't really matter as long as you give yourself space to relax.
You know what your body needs in this moment.
Take a few breaths,
Allowing your body to settle into this nurturing space.
There is no need to control your breath.
Just let it flow in its natural rhythm.
As you begin this meditation,
Acknowledge the weight of grief that you may be carrying.
Recognize that as a hospital worker,
You are often confronted with loss and the pain of others.
Allow yourself to fully acknowledge and honor your own feelings of grief and sadness.
Take a moment and recall a specific loss or experience of grief that is weighing on your heart.
It could be the loss of a patient,
A difficult moment with a family,
Or any other experience that has left a lasting impact on you.
Sit with this grief,
Giving it space to be felt and acknowledged.
Notice any physical sensations that may arise in your body.
Breathe into these feelings,
Allowing them to be present without judgment or resistance.
As you continue to breathe into these spaces,
Begin to visualize a soft,
Comforting blue light surrounding you.
This light represents love,
Compassion,
Healing.
Imagine this light gently embracing your grief,
How it brings warmth,
Solace,
Understanding to your heart.
Grief is a natural response to the challenging circumstances you face in your work.
Can you find healing in knowing that your work is important and meaningful?
That it is normal to feel the weight of emotions that come with your work.
As you breathe in,
Imagine inhaling comforting blue light into your being,
Allowing it to infuse your body with peace and understanding.
As you exhale,
Visualize releasing any heaviness or burden.
Give yourself permission to take the time and space you need to process your grief.
Allow yourself to fully feel and honor these emotions,
Knowing that they are an essential part of your healing and growth.
Take a few more moments to simply be with your grief.
Take notice of any thoughts,
Memories,
Emotions.
Trust that with time,
Patience,
Self-compassion,
You will find your own unique path of healing and find solace within your experiences.
When you feel ready,
Slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Take a few deep breaths,
Feeling the sensation of air entering and leaving your body.
Carry with you the knowledge that you are not alone in your grief and that it is a shared human experience.
Until next time,
May you know peace,
May you know healing,
May you know compassion.
