Hello,
Welcome to Meditation with Kaleidoscope Yoga.
My name is Amber,
And I'd like you to find a comfortable position,
Whether you're sitting down with your hands comfortably in your lap,
Or you've chosen to lie down,
Maybe with a pillow or a blanket under your head,
And maybe a bolster under your knees.
If you would like,
I invite you to bring your hands to your heart in prayer position or Anjali Mudra.
If you're lying down,
You can place one hand on your heart and one on your belly,
Or simply relax with your hands by your sides on your lap.
Close your eyes,
Or direct your gaze softly to the floor in front of you with your eyelids softly parted.
Join me in a few cleansing deep breaths.
We'll inhale for a count of three,
Hold at the top,
And exhale,
Releasing a sigh from your mouth.
Inhale for one,
Two,
Three,
And hold.
And exhale,
Letting it all go.
Inhaling for one,
Two,
Three,
Holding at the top,
And release.
And one last time,
Inhaling for one,
Two,
Three,
Hold.
And exhale,
Allowing your body to settle in,
Feeling a little bit heavier.
Noticing your mat on the floor,
The couch,
Whatever you're seated on,
Or lying down on.
Just notice how it's strong,
It's stable,
And it's holding you safely.
To begin our meditation,
We must let go.
Let go of our thoughts,
The old scripts,
Any expectations,
And especially any darkness.
This might sound a little foreboding,
But the solution to letting go is not to fight,
But to simply release,
Allowing yourself to let go of what does not serve you at this moment.
We let go of everything,
And we hold onto nothing,
Giving yourself permission to release any responsibilities,
Or feelings,
Doubts,
Anything that holds you back.
For the next moment or two,
Just notice how you feel,
Sitting in your own space,
Listening to your own breath.
Not a care in the world,
Just for these few precious moments.
Let's take another inhale together.
Big inhale,
Filling up the belly,
Inhaling peace.
And now as we exhale,
Releasing,
Feeling even heavier.
Inhaling into the belly,
And exhale,
Releasing whatever is left,
Feeling your muscles relax,
Allowing gravity to gently pull them towards the earth,
Your body becoming heavier and grounded.
Letting go is a purification.
But as we work through this process of letting go,
We're creating an emptiness,
But it's not an emptiness that can't be filled.
It's a space where health and grace will move into,
A space where we can bring forth happiness and joy,
Filling it up with whatever makes us feel alive.
When we allow ourselves to create this space,
We begin to live with a joyful awareness,
Becoming mindful of all that is surrounding us with beauty,
Patience,
And kindness.
We become more adaptable and aware of our intentions as we look inward towards fulfillment.
John Chan said,
Do everything with a mind that has let go.
So as you venture forth today,
I invite you to do just that.
Allow yourself to be aware and to have the power to know when something doesn't serve you and let it go.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your belly and letting your heart space become wide and aware,
Allowing yourself to become aware of your own space and welcoming the love that surrounds you.
As you exhale through your nostrils,
Feel the last remnants of anything that holds you back,
Releasing into the universe.
Open your eyes,
Take in the colors and the shapes of things around you,
Maybe offering your body a nice,
Deep,
Full-bodied stretch,
And now move forward within a space of peace.
Thank you for joining me today.
Namaste.
