Hi and welcome to this pregnancy meditation for the last few weeks of your pregnancy.
Perhaps you have chosen this session because you feel that the third trimester of pregnancy is dragging on and on.
Or perhaps you just want some guidance to help you through the last few weeks as you deal with mood swings,
Fatigue and overall feelings of impatience.
Whatever the reason you chose this practice,
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
Whether that's laying on your side with a pillow between your knees or sitting in a comfy chair or perhaps on your birthing ball.
As you breathe in slowly,
Feel your belly expand.
And as you exhale,
Feel the entire body sink into the ground beneath you.
Feeling safe and feeling fully supported by Mother Earth beneath you.
Now take another deep breath in,
Bringing your attention to your expanding belly as you draw the air in.
And release your breath on the exhale,
Breathing out all the way until you are at the end of your breath.
And give yourself some time to bring your breathing to a relaxed,
Regular rhythm.
And feel your body just getting a little bit heavier,
Allowing yourself to relax deeper into your position.
It may seem as if you've been pregnant forever.
You may find yourself counting the days to your due date,
Anxiously awaiting your first contraction or sign of labour.
Who'd have thought you'd ever look forward to labour?
You may be ready to stop being pregnant,
But that doesn't mean your baby is ready to be born yet.
The last few weeks of pregnancy are critical.
So if your little one is still inside you,
Know that during these weeks,
Your baby's lungs are growing strong.
His or her brain cells develop rapidly.
And your baby gets antibodies from you that protect him or her from infections as a newborn.
When your patience wears thin,
Envision meeting your baby 10 weeks from now.
Perfectly formed,
Healthy and ready to live outside your womb.
This home stretch is vital for your baby's wellbeing.
So repeat after me.
The home stretch is vital for my baby's wellbeing.
The home stretch is vital for my baby's wellbeing.
The home stretch is vital for my baby's wellbeing.
The home stretch is vital for my baby's well-being.
Great.
Now allow yourself to soak up the magic of feeling life grow inside you.
If you feel too miserable to do this,
That is fine too.
Not everyone has the same experience.
And sometimes it is just too physically difficult to try and feel good about your pregnancy.
So give yourself some space and time as you allow those feelings to just come over you without judgment.
Breathing in gentleness,
Ease and perseverance.
Affirming to yourself that you are built to do this.
You can do this.
You are a strong powerful woman who has carried her baby to this gestational age.
Now being kind and gentle with yourself.
Give yourself a pat on the back.
You've made it this far in your pregnancy.
Hold on mama,
You are doing a wonderful job.
And remember the universe has got your back.
Giving yourself patience.
Feeling yourself just to be here.
And allow yourself to soak up the emotions that may arise.
One breath at a time.
Breathing in ease and gentleness.
Breathing out anxious thoughts and worries that no longer serve you.
Breathing in ease and gentleness.
Breathing out anything else that no longer serves you.
Now I will leave you here for a little while as you soak up these feelings of relaxation.
And I will let you know when it is time to come out of meditation.
