A short, relaxing meditation to check in and take care of you. Bringing awareness to how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally will give you a sense of what needs attending to. I hope you enjoy.

My name is Amanda Huston and this short meditation is to check in and take care of you.

When you are ready,

Come to a nice,

Comfortable seated position.

Make sure your back and neck feel secure.

Rest in the hands on top of the thighs and you can either soften or gently close the eyes.

Take a moment to settle in,

Feeling safe and supported.

Come unaware of the breath,

Noticing the ebb and flow.

Maybe you experience the rise of the belly on the inhale and the softening on the exhale.

Notice how the breath is today.

Is it tense or jagged?

Deep or shallow?

Do you need to breathe a little bit deeper just to relax?

Or can you let it flow just as it is?

Now become aware of the entire body.

Get a sense of the shape you are in.

Notice where the skin touches the earth,

Feeling safe and supported.

Now I would like to ask you a question.

How are you today?

How do you feel physically?

Is there any discomfort,

Tension,

Sensations?

Anything there you need to go easy on?

Now get a sense of how you are feeling emotionally.

Mentally.

Is there anything there?

And rather than avoiding,

Can you accept and offer yourself some kindness and space to just take care of you?

As you ask these questions,

Notice any response that occurs in the body.

The heart beating,

The face and jaw clenching.

And if it occurs,

See if you can invite a little bit of softness and release.

Just get a sense of what's there.

What needs attending to?

Another moment.

Just observing how you feel.

Now let's gently come back to the breath,

That place of support.

The breath that keeps you steady.

Just let it flow.

And as you do this,

Maybe now is a good time to set yourself an intention.

It can be anything.

A small gesture.

Something kind.

Just for you.

When you feel ready,

Give the shoulders a little roll.

And you can gently open the eyes,

Ready to go back to your day.
