Welcome.
Deep,
Relaxing sleep can be easy when we are present,
Mindful and live in the now.
The unconscious or conscious stresses and anxieties that sometimes prevent us from sleeping can only be rooted in the past or future.
Right now,
Right at this very moment,
Actually there is nothing we need to worry about.
So today is a deep remembering of how to let go easily and naturally,
Allowing you to fall deeply into a peaceful sleep.
When you are ready,
Really make yourself comfortable and gently close your eyes.
Focus on your breathing for a while.
Take a few deep breaths to begin with,
Allowing your stomach to rise as you breathe in and as you breathe out,
Empty your lungs as much as you can and then just allow your breath to continue in its natural rhythm.
Much of mindfulness is the noticing and observing of the breath and of the body.
So that's all we're doing for now.
Watching,
Observing,
Accepting.
I wonder if you might notice the physical sensations involved when you breathe.
The rise and fall of your stomach and chest.
The breath entering and leaving your body.
Anxieties can only belong to the outer you,
The false self,
The bit that worries how we are perceived,
How we perform,
How we can please,
Be better than,
Be less than.
Right now,
We remember the now,
Your true self,
Your essence,
Going beyond your thoughts.
Notice too any physical sensations of your body,
Where you may hold attention.
Which parts can relax more easily?
You may invite your muscles to gently let go as you observe each part of the body.
Focusing on the top of the head,
Face letting go,
Neck,
Shoulders relaxing now.
All the way down through the arms and into the hands.
A beautiful presence in the hands.
Focusing on the chest,
Releasing and letting go.
Your stomach is settling,
Relaxing.
Your back is softening.
This calm sensation moves down through the legs.
All the way down through the legs and out through the bottom of your feet.
Notice how it feels to allow your whole body to melt into that rest,
That comfort.
When your body relaxes,
It allows space for your thoughts to slow down.
Allow your thoughts to just come and go,
Not getting attached to them.
Right now,
They are not important.
The awareness of your breath is your focus now.
Come back to your breath.
How the air might feel cooler on the in breath and warmer on the out breath.
Your breath focuses you in the present and in the present there is beautiful serenity.
A giving in,
A surrendering,
A letting go,
A total acceptance of yourself and all things.
Your natural state of being is right now.
A moment of calm,
Peace,
Deep rest.
Your true self,
Your essence is rooted in the moment.
We're letting it go,
Letting it be,
Letting it all just be.
This letting it be allows all worries,
Fears and tensions to just fade away.
Right here,
Right now,
You can truly rest.
Deeply rest and let go.
There is nothing to hold on to,
Nothing to work out,
Find answers for.
No stories to repeat in your mind.
There is only deep rest.
Here you can go further and further into rest,
Into total peace,
Complete relaxation.
Continuing to let go deeply and more deeply still.
Entering a truly soothing and healing deep rest.
My voice may fade into the background while you enjoy this complete peace and serenity.
There is nothing to do or think about.
Each moment brings about a deeper feeling of calm.
Right now,
Experiencing a beautiful calm flow through you.
Your mind and body are so deeply relaxed.
Your thoughts are slowing down now,
Fading away.
Your body is relaxing deeply.
Feeling so serene,
So sleepy now.
This lovely rest allows your mind to know it's safe for you to drift into a healing sleep.
The music in the background takes you deeper into a peaceful sleep.
You can allow yourself to simply be.
Allowing this rest to take you into a beautiful sleep.
Your eyelids resting,
Heavy.
Your mind and body are prepared to rest and sleep deeply and easily.
Your mind is clear and calm.
Right now it's calm and safe.
So safe you can allow this deep rest to take you into a deep sleep.
Right now,
The right time.
Giving yourself permission to sleep so deeply.
So naturally.
So easily.
Moments of total tranquility.
Falling asleep completely.
Entering a deep easy sleep as my voice fades away.
Sleeping and sleeping still.
