Hello and welcome to Mama Me Time.
My name is Sam and together with friend and fellow hypnotherapist Nicola,
We have created this deeply relaxing recording for every mother out there in need of some well deserved rest and relaxation.
This really is your time to relax now and there is nothing whatsoever for you to do but to just let go.
So when you are ready and when it's safe for you to do so,
Find yourself a comfortable position.
You can do this lying down or sitting up and simply close your eyes.
Just take a few deep breaths to begin with.
Allow the stomach to rise as you breathe in and as you breathe out empty your breath completely.
Then after a while allow your breath to continue with its natural rhythm.
Notice any physical sensations in your body.
Notice the way your hands rest,
The position of your feet,
The angle of your elbows,
The little muscles of the face.
Just bring yourself to the present moment now.
You may experience unwanted thoughts,
Thoughts of the day,
Thoughts of what you need to get done.
That's okay.
Just accepting them now but not judging them or getting washed up by them.
This is your time to connect with yourself.
So come away from the noise and chatter of the outer self and the outer world.
Come back to your breathing and the stillness of your body.
Often mothers,
Especially in this modern day society,
Feel stressed,
Overwhelmed,
Worried or guilty.
Perhaps at time you may experience these feelings too but now it's time to be kind and gentle with yourself and really let go.
It's okay to drift away and relax.
You deserve to put yourself first for a while.
You might want to let yourself know that you are good enough and you are doing the best you can.
It's safe to give in to a deeply relaxing rest.
When the muscles are relaxed it tells the subconscious that it's okay for the mind to relax.
So let's work through the muscles in the body now,
Focusing on each part and really releasing any tension there.
Starting at the top of the head,
Imagine any tension across the forehead melting away and gently moving down the face now,
Forehead,
Eyes,
Cheeks,
Mouth and jaw muscles all becoming expressionless.
It feels great to let go of that tightness,
Moving down into the neck and shoulders,
Letting go of all that tension.
It's like you're having a beautiful mental massage.
That flow of relaxation continues on down through your arms and all the way down into your hands.
Just sensing how your hands feel as they rest there.
You may even feel a tingling sensation in your hands now,
Whatever feels right for you.
The muscles in the chest are becoming loose and relaxed now.
Moving down into the stomach,
Those stomach muscles becoming even more relaxed,
Even more at ease as you breathe in and out each time.
Breathing so calmly and steadily and evenly.
Focusing on the back now,
Those muscles on either side of the spine are relaxing and softening,
Giving up their hold,
Their fight.
That flow of relaxation slides down into the legs now,
Down through the thigh muscles,
Down through the knees,
The back of the knees relaxing,
Along into the shins and calves on each leg now,
Even down into the feet and the tips of each toe.
Sensing how wonderful it feels to relax all those muscles in the body.
Anytime you find a trace of tension,
Just let it go and replace it with a calm,
Quiet sort of feeling.
You're doing really well and I wonder if you can imagine now or sense in any way that feels right,
A beautiful staircase of ten steps which leads down into a secret and secluded garden.
You instinctively understand this is a place of total peace and quiet.
A place where you can enjoy your own company for a while and feel at ease.
Nothing or nobody to think about.
You look forward to just sitting by yourself for a while,
Knowing just for now you can put your needs first in every way.
And I'm going to count down from ten down to zero.
And when I do so you can take another step down on the staircase and another step down into deeper and deeper levels of relaxation.
Ten,
Nine,
Eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One and down to zero.
You immediately feel the softness of the grass beneath your feet.
The sun is coming through the leaves of the trees and the smell of brightly coloured flowers envelops you.
You sink into this beautiful feeling of calm,
Of peace.
For now you surrender completely.
You can hear the sound of birds singing sweetly and the gentle buzz of bumblebees in the distance.
Somewhere in this haven of peace and wellbeing is a luxurious chair for you to sit for a while.
And you walk easily over to it,
Relaxing more and more with each step.
It's almost as if you're floating on air now.
As you reach the chair and sit down you notice a beautiful wave of tranquility sweeping over and through you.
This is your time now.
And now I'd like you to just imagine that as you rest there your entire being is surrounded by a lovely,
Pure light.
And this light can be whatever colour you want it to be but it's a colour of calm,
Peace,
Protection and safety.
Just imagine that colour flowing through every part of you and surrounding you completely.
Experience just how safe and protected you feel right now.
Feeling as though it's supporting you somehow,
Protecting you,
Keeping you safe,
Calm and connected to all those positive feelings flowing through you now.
Then you know you can always come back to this image in your mind's eye whenever you want.
It's always here waiting for you.
You can lock it away somewhere in your mind and whenever you need a moment of peace and calm in your outside world all you need to do is take a few moments to yourself and come back to your hideaway and your bubble of light.
So no matter what is going on around you,
When you are bathing in this bubble of pure light within your secret garden nothing negative can touch you.
You are completely protected from anything that could cause you any kind of stress because it's absolutely possible to remain calm and relaxed even during difficult times.
And so you can think of those situations in the outside world that may cause stressful feelings.
Perhaps it's a testing moment with your baby,
Your child or partner or something else.
Then imagine that you can bring yourself away from the noise and stress of that challenging situation for a few moments.
You can do this in your mind if it's impossible to physically take yourself away from the situation.
Come back to your core self,
The true self that knows just how to be centered and calm and imagine this bubble of light surrounding you.
Anything unwanted will just bounce off you now,
Allowing you to be more centered and in control.
You know and understand at a very deep level that you can remain more calm,
Mindful and in the present moment from this day forwards.
From now on you can face those challenging situations that us mothers all face from a deeper place of strength,
Calm and peace.
This doesn't have to be done perfectly,
It's a tool in your toolbox for whenever you need a helping hand.
And you can continue to enjoy this feeling of relaxation while I continue to speak to your subconscious here today.
The following affirmations will take root in the subconscious,
Guiding you in your everyday life and becoming your new reality now.
You are a good enough mother and equal to any other.
