Today's the day,

Thanks for showing up.

I'm Allison Shuhazi,

A super fan of energy work and engaging the intuition.

My career has spanned many genres,

Bringing me to become an intuitive coach and Reiki master.

I continue to collect a bundle of pivotal moments,

Whispers of wisdom,

And funny stories that have helped keep me real along this journey.

I hope that this podcast will ignite a spark within you to connect with your intuition and your whispers of wisdom.

So get ready because it's time to shift today with me,

Allison.

Hello,

Hello and welcome back.

So today I have a story about a simple shift with listening and being in tune with my intuition.

I want to try to give you some examples.

Intuition is a big,

Big part of my focus with my work,

With through my energy work and through my coaching because I do believe we all have an intuition and we need to engage it.

So I thought I'm going to share a story.

This actually happened this morning.

A morning is my time.

That is my me time.

That is my time.

And it's because I'm an early riser.

I'm usually up around five,

But I've been known to get up as early as three o'clock in the morning.

And quite honestly,

This used to frustrate me to no end.

Sometimes I would get up and go work out and I would do that.

But then I'm like,

Sometimes I just like to be and I love to have my time.

I think that comes with the only child in me.

Well,

When I started down this path a few years ago,

I actually started engaging my thoughts and behaviors and actions in a whole new way.

So this is kind of where the shift comes.

One of many.

The morning shift,

That's what I'm talking about.

This came when I realized that I'm up.

And so I'm up,

No one else is up.

And this is my time.

No one can interrupt me.

No one needs anything from me.

It's quiet and everyone else is sleeping and I want to keep it that way.

So I can't do dishes or laundry or any of the other nagging chores that are waiting for my attention.

So I just decided to sink in into this time and use it as my time.

So now when I get up,

I kind of have a little routine.

I get up and I go into the healing room,

Which is really my office where I work with my Reiki and my coaching clients.

And it quite honestly is one of my favorite rooms in the house.

I do this routine where I light some candles,

They burn some sage,

Maybe some paleo Santo just to add some clarity to my morning.

I do like to play a little meditation music,

Something soothing.

It really just kind of fills the still silence in the house.

Plus there's this really annoying loud truck that comes down our street,

Delivers papers.

And it comes between three and five.

So who knows when it's going to show up and it's just really annoying and loud.

Maybe it's just wanting to wake the neighborhood up.

I'm not sure.

Anyway,

This room that I'm in,

It faces the front of the house and we sit up on this hill and it faces east.

So I'm fortunate to be able to sit in this beautiful room and see some gorgeous sunrises,

Which I've posted about in the past.

Well today something different happened and it's a simple thing,

But it's simple enough where it really caused me to pause.

So I realized today that I was actually missing a portion of the sunrise.

So this morning,

Instead of focusing,

When I was looking out the window,

I could see a sliver of color coming up and it was just quite beautiful.

But my gaze shifted away from the distance sunrise into the room and it caused me to pause and now I'm telling you about it,

Which is seems a little silly.

However,

Stay with me because this is about blinds and a sunrise.

I know kind of crazy,

Huh?

But anything anyway,

Something inside me caught me off guard.

So my intuition told me that I need to adjust the blinds.

I'm like,

What is 27 degrees out?

I am in my chair already.

I've got my coffee.

The dog,

Abby is already snuggled up.

I am not getting up to adjust the blinds.

That can wait,

Right?

Okay so I've been sitting in this room with the blinds at the same spot on this window for almost two years.

I've not ever given the blinds a second thought.

So why are the blinds in the window causing me to pause and look at them?

I mean,

Really?

Well I've been perfectly happy watching the sunrise,

Writing in my journal,

Sipping my coffee,

Planning my day,

Snuggling with the dog,

But it will not be quiet.

And as I sat there this morning,

I could see a beautiful streak of orange with a little transition of yellow on the horizon.

But yet the internal nagging continues about the blinds.

I kept hearing,

Adjust the blinds.

Maybe there's more you can see.

Then I heard,

Get off your butt and do something to enhance your view because with just a little effort come rewards.

Fine,

I will get up and adjust the blinds.

So I do.

I know better at this point in my life to fight the snagging intuition feeling.

So I get up.

I had to move some furniture,

I had to move a lamp,

I had to move some stuff.

I adjusted the blinds down a foot.

Okay,

I went back to my chair.

Abby immediately is looking at me like just get back here and warm me up.

So I snuggled back in the chair with Abby.

I look over at the window and oh my gosh,

It's as if I'm looking at a whole new view out the window because I lowered the blinds afoot.

The sunrise was stunning.

And at this point,

The sunrise resembled like a band of gold.

Have you ever seen it where the sun is just shining so bright?

It's like this beautiful band of gold across the sky.

It was really gorgeous.

Anyway,

So now I noticed that by lowering the blinds just a smidge,

It opened up my view into a whole new view.

It's literally a new view.

But not only did I see a new view,

But by lowering the blinds a little bit,

They now covered up my neighbor's floodlights that have been kind of distracting me.

So that a little piece of annoying was gone.

Because I made a change.

I got up and I listened and I made that change.

And I can now see the span of a sunrise peeking out over the trees and not being shielded by the blinds.

So with all this,

It really did cause me to pause.

And I get this overwhelming feeling of like accomplishment because I listened to the voice telling me to get off my butt and do something to improve something else.

So good for me for pausing and listening to this little voice.

My intuition nudging me to do something to make a small tweak that did really bring a beautiful reward.

Well,

We all have an intuition that we can help that helps deliver so much clarity to us if we engaged it.

I know that it when I am engaged with my intuition,

Things are so much more clear.

It doesn't mean I'm going to go along with everyone else.

But for me,

This works for me.

When I'm thinking about how I can talk about and explain the intuition,

One thing for me that I've enhanced and how I've enhanced my intuition is I think about it is almost like I'm trying to strengthen a muscle or improve a skill.

I use it I pause I listen.

I practice noticing the differences between listening to it and taking action by listening to my intuition rather than following the annoying controlling ego that continues to get in my way.

And it gets in my way still sometimes because I'm human.

So this is a very simple example that I've talked about today with the blinds and the sunrise.

But I do have some bigger examples and maybe done in the future.

We'll do some other episodes.

But like here's just a few milestones that I've used my intuition with.

I did a huge move to Colorado after college.

So many people were against it.

I had some that were very much supporting me.

But I did it and it was turned out to be the 12 of the best years of my life.

I've used my intuition at work numerous jobs different positions.

Usually when I have to make pretty big decisions instead of letting the ego and the noise get in my way and the fear if I just sink in and use that intuition it just has really helped me in many situations.

I've used my intuition in numerous relationships I've been in throughout my throughout the years whether it's new relationships that maybe have come into my life that weren't so fantastic or relationships that I've had for years and years that just maybe we change and we it's time to go different ways.

I used my intuition when I met my husband.

So there's just so many big things and big examples.

But I like to keep things simple when I'm trying to help teach and acknowledge different thoughts and practices.

And I don't think it's really that different.

We all have it.

We all have that.

However how often have you ever thought oh my gosh I knew that I knew what was going to happen that way.

I mean there's so many so many examples anyway on the flip side.

I have some not so fantastic examples of when I have let the ego and the noise around me guide me.

But we will save those examples for a whole other podcast.

But right now I just wanted to share this moment with you about the blinds and the sunrise to demonstrate how if you just pause and listen to your intuition even the slightest shifts can bring the most magical moments and gifts.

I tend to celebrate my intuition.

I use it as my beacon of light guiding me through my days.

After all my intuition has never let me down.

It just continues to enhance my life.

And it also has let me know that when there is a plan and there's something that I am trying to control and I want I want it to go this way.

I want it to be this way.

I want it to happen this way.

And it let go and I just kind of follow what my intuition is telling me.

Things tend to turn out so much better than if I try to stick tooth and nail to something.

So anyway,

Just for today,

When your mind starts to wander,

Maybe try to pause and listen to what it's saying.

Like,

Can you hear an odd message?

If you're in the middle of doing something,

Do you hear something odd in your mind?

Is your mind telling you something different?

Well,

You might want to pause and listen and maybe go that direction.

Are you having a light bulb moment where you're like,

Oh my gosh,

Yeah,

This is how this is where it is.

That's what's happening.

This is what I need to do.

That's your intuition talking to you.

One of my frevitches prayer.

I'm a big prayer.

I believe in many things.

But is your prayer being answered?

But maybe not the exact way you are expecting it to.

But if you sink into your intuition and you follow that prayer that's being answered,

You might gain more clarity.

Because if things are not going exactly as expected,

Things can turn out to be a lot more clear.

Anyway,

Thank you for joining me today.

And I have to say thank you to you for all the feedback and the messages that you're sending me.

I'm so appreciate that it's really filling up my tank.
