When we are stressed, worried, anxious, concerned, or overwhelmed, we can have a tendency to focus on our fears for the future or worries of the past. All we have is, right here, right now, in this present moment. The Head Hold and Breathe technique, is a powerful way to help you to stop worrying about what's coming up or what has passed. It will bring you back in alignment with your body, mind, and being.

Head,

Hold and breathe meditation.

When we are stressed,

Worried,

Anxious or overwhelmed,

We can be really concerned about all the things in the future and also all the things in the past.

We can't predict or anticipate or control the future and we cannot change the past.

All we have is right here,

Right now.

But that can be easier said than done.

When life feels overwhelming,

It could be finances,

Relationships,

Health,

Work,

Family,

Friendships,

Home life.

It could be anything in our lives,

Any stresses from any of those areas or more that catapults us,

If you like,

Into worrying about the future and living in the past in our mind.

So this technique of head,

Hold and breathe is a wonderful way to support you to be here now and in the present.

So when you feel ready,

Just find a comfortable place to either sit or stand.

Just a place where you can be uninterrupted for a minute or two.

Place one hand on your forehead and the other hand on the back of your head,

Just near the base of your skull,

Right above your neck.

And when you feel ready,

Just take a breath in and letting go as you breathe out.

Breathing in and letting go as you breathe out.

Breathing in and letting go as you breathe out.

Just trying now for the next four breaths to breathe in and out on your own with one hand on your forehead and the other hand on the base of your skull at the back.

You may repeat this head,

Hold and breathing technique as long as you need,

As long as you desire.

And when you feel ready,

You can gently relax your hands by your sides,

Open your eyes and return back into the space.

Thank you for offering this. My therapist has shared this technique with me but I forgot the part of my hand at the base of my skull. It is very calming. I felt like I could breathe easier.
