This short guided meditation can be used to ground and center yourself at any time. It is helpful for professionals who work within vulnerable communities and designed to bring us back to our safe space so that we can be that safe place for others. This is an opportunity to pause. This is a simple and beautiful way to gather strength, inner calm, and self=compassion. We are so often the calm in others' storms, this is a gentle reminder of the calm within us. Be the safe space.

Exhale.

Feel into your body.

Draw air into your lungs through the tip of your nose.

Smooth and even.

And exhale from the lungs and out through the mouth.

Smooth and even.

Inhale through the tip of the nose.

And exhale out through the mouth.

Continue this rhythm for three breaths.

Smooth and even.

Smooth and even.

And letting go of that breath control and bring your attention to your toes,

Into your feet where they touch the earth.

Bring awareness to your weight in your feet.

Here's this weight evenly dispersed across the feet.

Imagine your feet anchoring you into the earth.

Stable,

Strong,

Steady and grounded.

Feel this calm and strong sensation climb its way from the earth into your feet,

Up your ankles and your shins and your calves.

Over your knees,

Up your thighs and into your hips.

Your lower back,

Your mid back,

Chest and into your heart,

Your heart space.

Now take a deep breath in and hold that strong,

Calm feeling in your heart space.

And count to three as you hold and pause.

And then exhale fully and allow this steadiness to reside in you as you open your eyes gently and with the eye gaze lowered for a few more breaths before returning to your day.
