This meditation is a visualization practice designed to support you in tuning into your internal landscape,
Your inner world,
Your intuition,
And really just tuning into what your soul most needs.
So I invite you to make yourself comfortable,
Either sitting or lying.
And when you feel settled in the position you have chosen,
There is an invitation here for you to close your eyes if this feels good for you,
But otherwise you may simply like to soften or lower your gaze.
And we do this just to send a signal,
Send a message to our body and to our mind that this is a time to turn inwards.
And so here I invite you to now bring your attention to your breath.
And just start by taking a lovely,
Deep,
Intentional breath in.
An inhalation that really expands your chest in all directions.
Deep down into your belly,
Your ribs expanding outwards,
Your side ribs expanding to either side of you,
And your back body and your back ribs expanding also.
And then just let that breath go with a big sigh out through your mouth,
And sink a little deeper into the bed or the chair or the surface beneath you.
And we'll do this a couple more times.
So again,
Take one of those full,
All-consuming,
Expansive breaths in,
Almost as if you're filling your entire body.
And then when you get to the top of that breath,
You can just let it go with a sigh out through your mouth.
And again,
Take another expansive breath in,
Feeling that breath expand deep down into your belly,
Your ribs expanding in all directions,
Front,
Back,
And sides.
And then when you get to the top of that breath,
Just let it go and sigh it out.
And here I invite you to visualize yourself in a garden.
And I'm intentionally not going to give you prompts or directions here.
Your mind,
Your imagination,
Your creativity,
Your intuition has full reign to bring to mind a garden in whatever shape,
Form,
Context that looks like for you.
And so now that you have had a little time for your intuition and your creativity to bring you something,
I'm just going to ask you a few questions here for your consideration.
So firstly,
What season is it in your garden?
Summer,
Autumn,
Winter,
Or spring?
And as you look around you,
Are the trees and plants bare and sparse,
Or are they full and luscious?
Is your garden dry and arid,
Or is it lush and green?
Is it overgrown and wild,
Or landscaped?
Can you see flowers and color,
Or is it mostly greenery,
Trees,
Bushes?
Just take a little bit more time here to really pay attention to your surroundings.
What can you see?
What do you notice?
And I invite you to consider here that your garden,
That your mind,
Your intuition,
Your subconscious has brought you today,
Is a reflection of what you,
What your soul,
What your essence is needing from you.
There is a message for you in this garden.
There is a reason that it came to you today.
Maybe it's autumn in your garden,
And the turning and falling of the leaves is a message that there is something you need to let go of.
Maybe if it's winter,
And your garden is sparse and the trees bare,
This is a message that it's okay for you to rest,
Retreat,
Turn inwards,
Hibernate,
And not force yourself to bloom against your natural rhythm.
Maybe if your garden is landscaped,
Orderly,
Manicured,
This could be a message to bring a little more order and structure into your life.
Maybe if your garden is overgrown,
Wild,
Natural,
Untamed,
Perhaps this is a reflection that part of you is craving to be let free from constraints.
Perhaps if your garden is full of flowers at their full bloom,
Full of colour and sunshine,
Perhaps this is a message that part of you is craving an opportunity to be colourful,
Bold,
Confident,
And to shine brightly.
But ultimately this reflection,
This message,
This reason,
Is open to your interpretation and open to your intuition,
Because only you know the message that your garden holds.
So I'll give you some time here to perhaps walk around your garden,
Maybe you find a comfy place to sit down and just soak up its presence,
Tune into its message,
And consider what is your garden reflecting back to you?
What is the message here for you?
And finally I'll ask you,
Is there any part of your garden that is looking a little neglected?
And if your garden were to shift into its most balanced,
Nourishing state,
What would it look like?
And what would need to shift within you to mirror that?
So as we come towards the end of this practice today,
You are welcome to stay in your garden for as long as you feel you need to,
If you feel that there is more that you have to learn from your garden,
Or perhaps you just want to sit in this state of relaxation and calm.
And if this is the case,
Stay here for as long as you feel the need,
And then whenever this feels complete for you,
You can come back into your surroundings and come back into your day,
Come back into the present moment,
Into your body,
Remembering that you can return to your garden at any time,
And you may just find that your garden will shift and change as it reflects back to you the shifts and changes happening within you.
