Welcome to this guided meditation,
A simple reset you can use at any time during your day.
We start by just finding a comfortable position for us to sit for a few moments and gather ourselves in stillness.
If you can gently close your eyes,
I invite you to do that,
But you can also just soften your gaze or perhaps if you're looking out at a beautiful scene or a bustling city,
It's making the best of the environment of where you are.
Settle into our stillness,
Using our breath to help us get there.
An observation of inhale and exhale.
Looking for any sensations in the body as you watch this flow in and out.
On the next inhale,
Follow that mentally with the word in.
And on the exhale,
Follow it with out.
A simple wave in,
Out.
Continuing this for just a few moments as we bring the mind and body back together.
Throughout our day,
Our body tends to be doing something and our mind is doing something out.
And if we can just sit and pause and reconnect with this breath of ours,
We can begin bringing them back together.
In and out.
As thoughts pop in,
Gently noticing and simply setting them aside for later,
This simple time together is so short.
Really give this 100%.
Refocus on that breath.
In and out.
And begin to just simply scan the body.
Notice if there's anything that seems to be calling to you.
Any sensation or emotion that wants your attention to be pulled away from the breath.
And breathe into that space,
That feeling and replace it with the in and the out.
If you can offer any release or letting go of any tensions being held.
Any repetition of thought.
Anything that might be building up.
And offering your in and out.
Breathing in,
I am calm.
Breathing out,
I smile.
Bring your awareness to that breath again.
And affirming in your mind.
Breathing in,
I am calm.
Breathing out,
I smile.
I am not my thoughts.
I am not my stress.
I am not even my fatigue or my hunger.
I am simply in and out.
Deeply connected mind and body in this moment.
Breathing in,
I am calm.
Breathing out,
I smile.
When we allow a smile to come across our face,
We soften and we release tension.
And something begins to happen.
We begin to let go of that grip of all that we identify ourselves with and just settle into that breath.
The in and the out.
Stay with your breath as long as it feels comfortable with you.
Deeply connected mind and body.
Breathing in,
I am calm.
Breathing out,
I smile.
Breathing out,
I smile.
Breathing out,
I smile.
