Good morning everyone.
It's Alicia Bliss and welcome to your morning gratitude meditation.
For this practice,
Please find a comfortable seat after your body is awakened enough to feel present in your body.
I invite you to have your gratitude journal ready to write down your entry for the day as well.
I also encourage you to make a new habit.
For 40 days,
Challenge yourself to start your day with gratitude and I guarantee you will feel a lift in your soul that everyone will notice and wonder what you've been doing.
So sitting comfortably in your chair now,
Let's start by taking a couple of deep,
Deep breaths.
Inhale long and deep and exhale.
Start to feel the gratitude pouring in to this moment.
Allow gratitude to come up into your body.
Soften the face and let go of the weight in your shoulders.
Take in this moment of contentment that there's nowhere to be,
Nothing to do,
And that just being here is enough.
Inhale and exhale a sense of peace and calm coming over you as you relax into this easeful state called gratitude.
We have so much to be grateful for.
For example,
Last night's restful sleep,
A roof over our heads,
An abundance of food to fill our bellies.
Breathing in and breathing out,
Allowing the gratitude to come up naturally.
And if it doesn't come up right away,
Don't worry.
Just keep focusing on the breath and my words as I suggest aspects of your life that you might be grateful for.
Just drop down into your body and out of your mind for a moment.
Come to your breath,
Inhale and exhale gratitude for this life-giving breath.
Then breathe into your heart and notice its brilliant beat.
Fill up with gratitude that it provides you with a sensation of love and joy and peace.
And now bring your awareness to your eyes,
The eyes that let you see color,
Faces,
Smiles,
And nature's beauty.
Breathe in gratitude here and flow your awareness and gratitude into your ears that give you the gift of sound,
Sounds of laughter,
Music,
Birds,
And the voices of the ones you love.
Now breathe in to your nose that smells the ocean breezes,
The aromas of flowers,
And the delicious food coming from the kitchen.
Now bring your awareness into your lips and your mouth that allow you to taste,
Kiss,
And speak kind words to the ones that you love that let you sing.
Now flow your breath down into your hands that hold and touch the ones you love,
That applaud.
Now connect to your shoulders that carry,
Hug,
And are able to lift and stretch freely.
Now feel down into your feet and toes that give you the gift of walking,
That help you balance and dance.
And bring in thanks for your inner strength that gets you through those challenging times and can do hard things.
Now let's feel gratitude for the abundance in your life,
All that you hold dear.
Now just breathe and feel more grace and ease.
Notice the warmth inside you that feels more peaceful and light.
Now bring your awareness back into your physical body and back into the room.
Wiggle the toes and fingertips to allow the body to awaken.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes to this beautiful day ahead and give yourself a big thanks for starting your day with gratitude as I thank you for joining me.
