Hello and welcome to Love is my anchor meditation.
When we are stressed and overwhelmed,
We tend to see life through the lens of negativity and pessimism.
We also react and talk in ways that we would later regret.
We are not showing up as the parent we want to be for our children.
Because when stress,
Anxiety,
Overwhelm hits us,
We totally forget what matters most to us and how grateful we are for what we have.
By practicing this anchoring exercise daily,
You train your brain to see the beauty and positivity of your life,
Even in your darkest moment.
It will help you get out of negativity will by reminding you of what matters most,
Your children.
When you remember why you do what you do and why you love them so much,
All challenges seem easier to overcome.
I hope this practice will help you as much as it helped me.
So let's get started.
Make sure you won't be disturbed for the next five minutes.
Pause and come back when you're ready.
Now,
Make yourself comfortable,
Lying down or sitting and breathe deeply.
The easiest way to do that is to smile.
Can you feel a difference in your physical and mental state when you start smiling?
Just breathe deeply and fully in and out at your own pace.
But make sure you inhale and exhale fully.
Relax your head,
Your neck and your shoulders.
Relax your hand,
Your feet.
Now we will do a short practice of box breathing.
You inhale for the count of four,
Hold for the count of four,
Exhale for four and hold for four.
So let's start.
Breathe in two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four.
Breathe out two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four.
Breathe in two,
Three,
Four,
Hold two,
Three,
Four.
Breathe out two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four.
In two,
Three,
Four,
Hold two,
Three,
Four.
Out two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four.
Now go back to your natural breath and place both hands on your heart.
Breathe normally,
Softly and focus on the sensations in your heart beating in your hand.
Feel the warmth,
The energy.
Smile at your heart,
Connect with it,
Feel it totally.
It's an energy that is state and constant.
Your faithful friend.
Now visualize your children playing and laughing.
Can you see their smile?
Can you hear their giggles?
Can you feel their love and energy?
How do you feel seeing them playing and laughing?
Feel your heart with that feeling.
Now imagine you're touching them.
What does their skin feel like?
How does it feel when you gently touch their cheeks and hands and connect it to your heart?
Now give them a hug.
A hug that communicates your love,
Affection,
Pride for them.
Keep hugging them,
Breathing in and kissing them.
But forget to breathe slowly and deeply.
Can you feel their hug?
Can you feel the satisfaction and the love that hugging gives you?
Can you connect that love to your heart?
Because I want you to bring this image closer to your heart.
Can your children become one with your heart?
Breathe it all in,
Feel the warmth and the love.
And at this moment in time,
What do you want to tell them?
Say it out loud or in your head.
What do you want them to know?
If you could only say one thing to them,
What would that be?
If you're getting emotional or already are,
It's totally okay.
Stay in that emotion,
Embrace it fully and let it speak for itself.
Let your body do what it needs to do right now.
Just embrace this love,
The smile,
The giggles,
The laugh,
Everything.
And connect it all to your heart.
Continue breathing,
Connecting with that energy.
And now I want you to visualize yourself in your house with your children.
There is no right or wrong way to do this.
Just be.
You are in your house with your children.
What do you see?
Name three things you see.
Continue breathing.
What do you hear?
Name two things.
What do you touch?
Name one thing.
And embrace it all once again.
Once again,
The warmth,
The feeling,
The energy of your love.
Really,
Really bring it all back to your heart.
And this experience here,
The feeling you experience right now,
This is your anchor.
Now take a big breath in and out.
Start wiggling your toes and hands.
Open your eyes and connect back with your surroundings.
Take a moment to ask yourself,
How do you feel right now?
What's the first thing you want to do now?
And in a few minutes,
Do it.
Your anchor is your go-to memory to feed every day,
To nourish daily so you can remember the good things of motherhood when you are feeling low.
The more you feed it,
The quicker it will come to you when you need it.
The faster you will overcome your overwhelm and stress.
One way to feed it,
That I do every night,
Is to kiss and touch my kids as they sleep.
I smile to them and tell them verbally or mentally that I love them.
I breathe everything that makes them so special.
So every day,
Find your way to feed your anchor.
I'm wishing you a beautiful day.
Take care.
