Hi,
I'm Alex Dawson,
And this is Focus Your Day meditation.
So as we come to sit for our meditation,
Find a comfortable seat.
If you find yourself distracted at all during this,
Just know that's entirely normal.
And for right now,
Just notice your breath,
Like notice how we have a natural breathing that happens for us automatically.
We don't even have to really control it.
So just sit here for a moment and notice your breath.
Now see if you can relax your eyes.
That creates any ease around your forehead.
And relax your jaw.
So there's ease around the jaw.
Unclench the jaw.
Gently noticing breath.
Relax behind your eyes,
Noticing how you can relieve the optic nerve.
And having taken in so much information through the eyes,
We can relax the eyes to create inner focus.
Notice the breath.
And begin to notice the temperature in the room.
And notice if your spine started to slump and just let it come up,
Lengthen it.
So there's more flow in the spine.
And again,
Relax your eyes.
See if you can feel a sense of ease inside the brain,
About two inches inside from the very top of your head,
And two inches behind the third eye,
Right inside the brain.
Sense of ease around the pituitary gland,
Which governs our hormones.
Our hormonal body.
Our moods.
Connect to this inner focus.
Gentle.
Lean in.
Noticing.
Notice your breath again.
And continue to allow the eyes and behind the eyes and the optic nerve to relax.
While the breath really floods the body with vital energy.
Perfect combination for focus,
This vitality and ease.
If the mind is wandering,
Gently draw back to your breath.
Into that inner space behind the eyes.
The regulating of the pituitary gland and our hormonal body,
The moods of the body.
Balancing.
Allowing for more focus.
A sense of ease.
Can allow that sense of ease to be your guiding focus for the day,
That vitality and ease.
Or you can create your own intention that you want to carry with you.
Let's hold our palms up.
Eyes closed.
And bring them together.
Slowly.
Until they touch.
May there be peace within us.
May there be peace around us.
And may there be peace among us.
Namaste.
