Hello and welcome to this relaxation recording.
Please remember not to listen to this while you're driving or while you are doing anything that requires your full concentration.
So let's start.
I'd like you to get yourself nice and comfortable.
Just settle yourself down and start allowing all the muscles in your body to feel loose,
To go nice and limp.
So relaxed.
Allow your feet to relax.
Allow your legs to relax.
Your thighs.
Your stomach.
Your chest.
And your arms and your hands.
Just let them relax.
Just let go.
And then allow your neck and your throat to relax and then all of those little facial muscles.
Just let them feel loose,
Nice and limp,
Nice and relaxed.
And just let go.
And you might notice that the whole of your body is starting to get comfortable.
Maybe beginning to feel a bit heavy.
Or it could go the other way around.
You might feel as if you're floating,
Weightless.
Everyone feels different and every time is different.
But it's just a wonderful feeling to be relaxed.
Knowing that there is nothing agent,
There is nothing important right now that requires your attention.
So just now there is nothing to do.
There is no place that you need to go.
Just for now.
Nobody wants anything.
Nobody needs anything.
There is nothing that you need to do except just relax.
Just let go.
So allow yourself to feel even more comfortable,
Even more relaxed.
Feeling safe,
Happy.
And just allow your imagination to start creating a beautiful,
Splendid,
Magnificent day.
Just imagine it now.
There's a glorious sun in the sky and it is warming up your face,
Warming up your arms,
Your legs.
And this makes you feel even more comfortable,
Even more safe,
Even more relaxed.
And so allow yourself to go even deeper now,
A little bit deeper into this lovely,
Peaceful rest.
And I'd like you to create the most beautiful,
Perfect garden with all your favourite flowers and all your favourite plants.
Imagine the smell of your favourite flowers.
Imagine the smell of grass.
And I'd like you to notice that in your garden there's a hammock which is suspended between two trees.
And it's quite high up and so in order to climb into it you've got a rope,
One of those ropes with knots on them.
And there are five knots on the rope.
And so I'd like you to begin to climb up.
And the higher you go,
The stronger you feel.
And at the same time the more comfortably relaxed you become.
And isn't it strange how climbing that rope empowers you physically.
At the same time it is allowing you to very deeply relax inside because you're safe,
You are in control of your climbing and you're using your powerful muscles to lift yourself up above all of the noise,
Above all of the chaos of the world,
Above all of the strife and worries and problems all around you.
So take yourself up.
One knot feeling safe,
Comfortable.
Two knots even higher,
More relaxed.
Three knots relaxing more and more.
Four knots feeling so strong now and so relaxed.
And five and now you can just gently,
Easily swing yourself over the hammock and just lower yourself in.
And get nice and comfy and feel the waves of relaxation washing over you.
Just like being in a warm shower.
Warm soothing water,
Waves of warm water.
Soothing away all the stresses or the worries,
All the negative thoughts of everyday life.
And gently washing them away from your body,
Away from your mind.
Feeling so good,
Feeling so snug,
So totally relaxed in your hammock.
And now what I'd like you to do is imagine that you are starting to gently sway from side to side in your hammock,
Just making it gently rock from side to side as you go deeper and deeper into peace and tranquillity.
Side to side and side to side.
And as you slowly rock yourself,
Sway yourself,
Just keep your eyes on the treetops,
The leaves,
The fluffy white clouds.
And as you look down towards the garden,
Maybe you can see the flowerbeds,
The lawn,
Whatever it is that you want to have in your garden.
It might be a rockery pond.
It's just your favourite garden,
All of your favourite smells.
So just keep gently swaying in your hammock,
Watching all of this beautiful scenery,
Taking in the beauty and relaxing so deeply that you just want to stay here forever.
Stay here where nobody wants anything,
Nobody needs anything.
And it's just you,
Your garden,
Your hammock,
The clouds,
Just enjoying nature.
And every time that you sway from side to side,
From left to right in your hammock,
It takes you deeper down into relaxation.
And now that you are feeling relaxed,
Comfortable,
Safe,
We're going to start working with the mind clutter in your head,
Something that so many of us experience,
Piling up all the time,
All of those thoughts,
All of those images,
Especially when you're trying to go to sleep.
And you get this constant,
Endless stream of words,
Memories,
Scenes from the past,
Scenes that we imagine in the future,
Worries and problems and all of it piling up,
Cluttering our mind,
Not letting us go to sleep.
Because really the brain never sleeps,
There's always information going in,
Being sorted,
Filed away.
You can get very,
Very noisy in there,
Deciding what to keep,
What to remember,
Deciding what to do anything with,
Deciding what to discard.
So much information all the time.
So as you are resting there,
I'd like you to imagine that you are in a cinema.
You're there on your own,
You're sitting in the back row,
Quite far away from the screen.
And it is quite dark in the cinema,
But the screen is lit up.
And that screen represents your mind.
And as you are sitting there just watching the screen,
I'd like you to notice that it starts to fill up with random words,
Random images,
You might hear some muffled noises coming through.
And all of that is the clutter of your mind.
And this is what we are here to stop,
Relieve and improve.
So I'd like you to take a deep breath,
And breathe out very slowly.
And I'd like you to imagine that the clutter on the screen is starting to merge into a large,
Chaotic,
Messy ball.
It's just like maybe a beach ball or a hot air balloon.
And you are quite far away from it,
But you can see that it seems to come together and merge,
And swirl around.
All of the words,
All of the images,
All of the memories,
All of the noise,
All of those thoughts,
Distractions,
They're all there,
They're all swirling around in that large,
Round shape.
I'd like you to take another deep breath now,
Breathe out slowly,
And as you do,
And every time you breathe out,
Watch carefully as that ball starts to shrink,
It starts to deflate.
So just keep your eyes on the ball and take slow,
Deep breaths and see the ball deflate even more,
Every time you breathe out.
It is definitely getting smaller,
Weaker,
A little bit dim,
A little bit blurry,
A bit fuzzy.
So just keep on taking slow,
Deep breaths,
And breathe out slowly as the ball gets smaller and smaller.
As it gets so small,
Eventually,
It is actually difficult to see on the screen.
It used to be a huge ball,
But now it's just a tiny,
Tiny little dot,
And even that little dot is fading away,
It's disappearing.
It's just not there anymore,
And the screen is empty now.
It's all white again,
And all of the clutter has been cleared,
And the screen is free,
And that means that your mind is free,
And that's what it is.
And the screen is free,
And that means that your mind is free,
Nice and tidy,
Nice and light.
And of course,
With a clear mind,
You can do things differently.
Anything that needs to be done,
You can do with clarity and with confidence,
Happily,
Feeling relieved,
And so your concentration begins to improve.
And you might notice that it will get easier to focus on whatever you need to focus on,
And when you have finished the task,
You can just store it away,
Just file it away,
And not worry about it anymore.
Because that old mind clutter is a thing of the past now.
And any time that you need to,
You know that you can just take yourself back to your cinema,
Remember those things that you've been through,
And then you can just take yourself back to your cinema.
Remember those deep breaths and just project the clutter onto the screen,
Turn it into a ball,
And every time you breathe out,
Watch it as it starts to get smaller and smaller and smaller,
Until it gets so tiny that it disappears.
Or you can just blow it away.
And once again,
You are free of all of the unnecessary old clutter.
These suggestions are embedded in your subconscious mind now,
And so they will stay with you and they will grow stronger and stronger day by day,
By the hour,
Stronger by the minute,
Stronger by the second.
So in a moment I'm going to count from one to five,
And on the count of five you're going to be quite awake,
Feeling already different,
Feeling wonderful,
Full of energy,
And just ready to allow these suggestions to work for you.
Starting to come back now,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Fully awake,
Welcome back.
