A short breathing practice that encourages you to bring your awareness to breathing for a few minutes. Simply noticing your breath even for a few moments, can be very soothing for your nervous system, supporting a switch to the rest and repairing part of your nervous system (parasympathetic). This practice can be easily integrated into a busy day to provide some time for connection and rejuvenation.

This is a simple,

Short practice to help you be present with your body and breathing.

I invite you to take a moment for yourself.

You are all welcome here.

Notice and feel the ground beneath you,

Wherever you are.

Feeling the surface that you're sitting or standing or lying on.

Feeling it supporting you.

Now I invite you to bring your awareness to your breath.

Just observing the air as it moves in and out of your body.

And there's no need to change your breath.

Just feeling each inhale and exhale.

As you are breathing in and out,

You are exchanging carbon dioxide with the plants around you.

You are connected to nature just through the simple act of breathing.

Just noticing each breath in and out.

Now,

You might like to lengthen your exhale.

Making your out-breath take a little longer than your in-breath.

Remember to be gentle.

And there's no need to force.

Just do what feels right for you and your body.

Breathing in and then slowly exhaling.

Do this a few times,

Playing around with the length of your exhale.

And seeing how that makes you feel.
