Welcome to your raising vibrations walking meditation.
I am currently myself walking outside so you might hear the elements,
The birds,
The cars,
Other people and let that just be our reminder that we are in fact alive right now and so is the world.
So as you begin on your walk I just want you to take a few deep breaths.
Deeply inhaling,
Completely exhaling.
And just take this moment to really just acknowledge the life within you.
This breath the very thing that gives us life and what's so beautiful about a walking meditation is when we turn our awareness to the breath we begin to feel the fluctuations of life within us.
So sometimes as we're walking the breath will slow down and then sometimes when it's time to climb up a hill the breath might speed up,
Shorten,
Become more rapid.
My invitation to you during this walking jogging running meditation is that you simply tune in without judging your breath for shortening,
Without holding on or attaching to those longer deeper breaths.
No matter where you're at whether you're on a flat surface uphill or downhill experience the sensation of the breath.
And so now as you're walking,
Running,
Jogging,
Maybe skipping,
You do you.
But I want you to begin to really take in the sounds around you.
Resisting the urge to attach to the sounds or try to tune out certain sounds so that you can hear the more pleasant ones.
There's zero judgment,
Zero expectation.
Just listen to the world alive around you.
And even if you have headphones on you still are able to hear maybe subtle sensations around you.
Maybe you're hearing the sounds from my walk.
It doesn't matter.
Time is not linear.
Wherever you are we're walking together.
Breathing together.
You and I are currently alive together.
And now draw your awareness to the sensation on your skin.
And this could be a gentle breeze.
It might be the blazing Sun.
Maybe it's the coolness,
The dampness.
Again,
No judgment,
Expectations or attachments.
Feel your body right now.
Feel the elements touching your skin.
And now begin to draw your awareness all the way down to your feet.
And for these next few moments just feeling your feet touch the ground.
And with that just noticing what type of texture is underneath your feet.
Is it dense,
Soft,
Hard,
Forgiving?
There's no attachment,
Judgment or expectations.
We're just feeling the earth,
The ground beneath us.
Noticing which part of your foot touches the earth first in your stride.
And does that change or alter as you go uphill or downhill or as the terrain evolves?
Feel the earth beneath you.
And really let this be your reminder to honor the ground beneath your feet all day and every day.
This sweet earth that holds us,
That supports us,
That lifts us up.
And really for nothing in exchange.
This is our reminder of the feeling of unconditional love.
So you know whether or not you felt unconditional love in your own life with other people before.
Mother Earth is always,
Always here to remind us of that.
This is what I call that no matter what type of love.
So no matter how many times we neglect her,
We forget about her,
We harm her,
She continues to nourish,
She continues to serve us,
She continues to hold us,
To grow for us,
To bloom for us.
Let this be our reminder that no matter what,
We all have steady ground beneath our feet.
And now we guide our awareness from the feet all the way up to the head.
And I want you to open your eyes a little bit wider.
You might even blink your eyes a few times and then open the eyes really wide.
Don't worry about what you look like,
Truly.
This is your journey,
Your walk,
Your path,
Your adventure.
And as you open your eyes a little bit wider,
Look to your right,
Look to your left,
Up and down.
This could be just with your eyes alone,
Maybe you're turning your whole head to the right,
Left,
Up and down.
Maybe you even take a moment to turn and look behind you.
And there's absolutely nothing that we're judging or looking for.
We're just opening our eyes to this mighty world.
Whether you're walking in a city,
On the beach,
In the forest,
In a park,
Begin to notice that no matter where you are,
Nature is alive.
And this might be in the form of other people,
It might be truly like the natural elements.
It might even be that you can see the sky.
If you open your eyes wide enough,
You might even see the breeze.
See the world around you.
Reminding yourself that if at any time you get distracted,
There's zero judgment.
Right?
We're human beings here on planet Earth.
And we have these beautifully complex minds.
So you might be hearing people talk,
You might be hearing other people doing their jobs,
Mowing lawns,
Driving cars.
But there's also the sound of the birds,
The breeze through the trees.
If and when you become distracted on this walk,
Just kindly guide your awareness back to your breath.
And speaking of the breath,
Now I invite you to draw your attention to your nostrils.
Drawing the attention to the nostrils and first just feeling the air entering and exiting your nose.
And now use this time to take in any smells that you might be experiencing wherever you are.
And just like all of our other senses,
It's with no judgment,
No expectations,
Zero attachment.
Just allow yourself to indulge in smelling the world around you.
And this might mean if you're walking fast or you're running or jogging or skipping,
You might pause,
Slow down the stride,
And really just use this opportunity to smell the world around you.
And now wherever you are,
Could you take a step or two off the path?
And I want you to just pause for a moment.
Just pause for a moment,
Literally stopping in your tracks.
Take a deep inhale and stretch the arms high to the sky.
Exhale,
Comb the air around you and let it all go.
Two more like that.
Big deep inhale,
Carry the arms high,
Stretch up.
Open the mouth,
Exhale,
Let it go,
Comb the air around you.
Don't worry about what you look like.
Last one here,
Big deep inhale,
Fill it all the way up.
And exhale,
Open the mouth,
Release,
Comb the air around you.
And you're welcome to pause here.
Maybe you just sit down,
Take in this last little bit of the meditation,
Or maybe you continue walking.
But I invite you to continue walking with just a longer stride and slower movements.
And so,
As we brought our attention to the world around us via all of our senses,
Now I invite you to realize that that same energy,
The elements of the world around you,
Are also alive within you.
Your body is a literal manifestation of the universe.
Alive with all of the elements,
All of our senses.
Earth,
Water,
Air,
Fire,
Ether.
This makes up the human body,
Which is what I call a living temple.
And your breath,
My dear,
Is the bridge.
Your breath is the bridge between heaven and earth.
It is the spark,
The droplet,
The spirit of the divine.
And it has the power to journey into everything we do,
Into all that we are,
Every ounce of our being.
Your breath,
My breath,
Our breath,
Is sacred.
And it's the same breath as the universe herself.
Because you're currently inhaling and exhaling,
We know for sure that we have been gifted divine purpose.
That it's not random that we exist in these living temples on planet Earth right here and now.
It's not random that all of the elements are alive around you and within you.
It's not random that you're inhaling and exhaling.
Let us vow today to continue walking forward on our path,
On our journey of mindfulness.
Raising our own vibrations by simply becoming aware.
Aware of the fact that we're breathing in and out.
Aware of the fact that because we're breathing in and out right now,
We are here for a reason.
And may we consider today the day that we really realize that we have responsibility.
We have an obligation to consciously inhale and exhale.
Knowing that to breathe consciously is to live consciously.
And when we're living consciously,
Everything is put into perspective in an instant.
We take nothing for granted.
We use every trigger as an opportunity to grow.
A lesson in expansion.
Taking just another few minutes here to rest quietly.
To walk mindfully.
To feel your body breathe.
To experience the entire universe alive,
Living around you and within you.
Breathing together.
Walking together.
Living together.
May we never forget that and always take time out of our day to acknowledge that and celebrate that.
As Ram Dass says,
We're all just walking each other home.
Sending you blessings now and always.
Namaste.
