This meditation is designed to guide you out of the guilt and overwhelm that can seep into your days as a mother of little humans.
My name is Romina Cavagnola,
I am a story weaver,
A guide for connecting with and sharing your soul stories.
I am also a mother,
I know what it's like.
I've been there with you in parallel,
Walking the often tumultuous path of motherhood.
Every day is different,
Each moment unique in this journey.
What works once doesn't always work twice,
So you end up frustrated and anxious,
Or you step into momentary,
Disproportionate emotional eruptions when nothing that you try seems to make a difference.
And then you feel the remorse,
Regret for expressing your frustration in this way.
In retrospect,
You can recognise that the very last thing was not the trigger that caused you to snap.
Perhaps it was not even the thing before or the one before that.
But in that moment you are overcome by the energy that you have been suppressing.
I understand,
I've been there and like you it's not a place I like to be.
Let's release it together.
If you haven't yet closed your eyes,
I invite you to do that now.
Stand or sit for a moment in stillness.
I know it may feel like you don't have a moment,
But I promise that you do.
If that moment is not this moment,
Then give yourself permission to acknowledge that and return when you feel ready.
But remember to return,
Because you owe yourself a moment.
I want you to envision my face.
It doesn't matter what my face looks like to you or whether you have seen my face in real life or not.
Just imagine you are looking at my face into my eyes.
Place your hands in mine,
Feel the gentle support that is there,
Both in my hands and in the energy that binds us.
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and just as slowly let the air escape through your mouth.
That's good.
And again,
Deep breath in,
Pause and release that breath gently.
Keep holding on to my hands,
Keep your eyes connected with mine.
I see you,
Not just the woman you show to the world,
But the real you.
I see how you love,
How you nourish,
How you struggle,
How you judge yourself for not doing better.
Look into my eyes and see yourself.
See how resilient you are when faced with those struggles.
See how beautifully you love and nourish your children with food and time and care.
See just how well you're doing,
Even when it doesn't feel like enough.
It is enough.
It's always enough because you always give all that you have to give.
If you want to do better,
Do better,
But do not trick yourself into thinking that you are not enough or that you are not a good mother.
You are here seeking support to release what isn't serving you or your family that tells me you are a good mother and you are doing enough.
You are allowed to take a moment to release what you don't need,
To nourish your own mind,
Body and soul.
You are allowed to take a moment away from the ruckus,
Even if you have to wait a little for it to feel safe to do so.
You do not need permission from anyone else to take your moment,
But if you feel you do,
Then take my words as the permission you seek.
I know it can feel like that moment will never come.
It's not always possible to take time for yourself exactly when you feel you need it,
But that doesn't mean you just don't take it.
Find a moment when it feels safe and aligned to check in with yourself and release whatever bottled energy has accumulated within your body.
You can do this every day,
More than once a day or just whenever you feel called.
The main thing is that you do it and do it with intention.
Continue taking in slow deep breaths and with each exhale together we will release the guilt,
The overwhelm,
The frustration,
The anger,
The regret,
The self judgement,
The self criticism,
The not enough,
The should have,
The shouldn't have,
The wish I could and anything else that comes to you that feels heavy.
Don't hold back the tears if they come,
Tears are a sign of release.
Don't hold back the sighs and yawns,
These are also signs that you are letting go of the heaviness.
When you feel that you have released everything that needed letting go in this moment,
Relax into the rhythm of your natural breathing.
Feel the light of love filling your body,
Surrounding you and enveloping you in its embrace.
Feel the gratitude you have for your motherhood journey and for your children and for those who gather around you in support and love.
You are a wonderful mother,
I see it and you see it as you look into my eyes and see what I see.
You are also human and you are allowed to feel however you feel whenever you feel it.
You are enough,
You are seen,
You are held,
You are loved.
Say these things to yourself now out loud,
I am enough,
I am seen,
I am held,
I am loved,
I am enough.
When it feels right,
Open your eyes and shake off the stillness gently.
Thank you beautiful mother for the light you bring to the world.
