Hello SSS tribe,
My name is Bruce Mboghwa and for the next few minutes I'll be leading you in a short meditation aimed at bringing you to a sense of acceptance of yourself.
Like always,
We want to begin by finding a comfortable position to take the meditation in.
You can sit down,
Lie down,
Cross your legs,
Whatever works for you.
The key is to be comfortable and alert at the same time.
I invite you to close your eyes or keep them open but with a relaxed gaze.
Now begin to bring your attention to your breath.
Watch every inhale and every exhale.
Do not try to control or change the breath in any way.
Simply let it flow naturally.
Once you've settled with this steady flow,
Begin to shift your attention towards your thoughts.
I want you to think of a time that you had a positive impact on someone's life.
It could be a joyful memory with family,
A fun moment with friends,
Or even sharing a smile with a stranger.
Just think of any time where you made someone feel good.
Now for the sake of balance,
We're going to flip it.
This time around,
I want you to think of a time that you had a negative impact on someone's life.
It could be by what you said or what you did or didn't do.
Just think of any time that you made someone feel bad.
At this point,
I want us to come to an acceptance of both of these facts.
Acknowledge that you have made people happy and you have also hurt others.
Come to the acceptance that both of these experiences are an important part of who you are,
Which is human.
There is always evidence that you're a good person.
Similarly,
There is always evidence that you're a bad person.
With every thought,
Every action,
We get to choose which personality we are going to feed.
The only question that remains is to ask yourself,
Which one do I want to feed?
Let's open our eyes if you had them closed,
Bring your palms together and towards your heart center.
Acknowledge yourself for completing this meditation.
Acknowledge yourself for being you,
Both the good and the bad.
Namaste.
