Asha Kennedy,

Creativity Catalyst Coach,

Helping you live a more mindful and creative life.

Today's meditation is going to help you quickly and easily go from overthinking,

Over-analyzing,

And drop into a deeper space within yourself so that you can observe,

Witness,

And perceive some insights that may help you with whatever you're doing.

So to begin,

Have yourself in a comfortable place,

Either sitting down or lying down.

When you're ready,

Just gently close your eyes if it's safe for you to do that.

And begin to become more aware of your internal world,

The feeling and sensation of your breathing.

Feeling down into your toes and the soles of your feet,

Down through your arms and into your hands and fingers,

Thumbs,

And take a deep breath in,

Breathing into the belly and holding it there gently.

When you exhale,

Let it go down your legs,

Through the soles of your feet,

And connect to the earth.

Take another deep breath in,

Into the belly and hold it there gently.

When you breathe out,

Let it go upwards into your heart.

Take another deep breath in,

Down into your belly,

Gently holding it in.

This time when you exhale,

Let it go down through the feet and also up through the top of the head.

Place your hands on your heart,

The center of your chest,

In a way that's comfortable.

I want you to imagine that you're resting here in the center of a spinning wheel.

The center of the wheel is absolutely still,

And the outer rim is spinning around with all the things that change,

Come and go,

Like our thoughts,

Our feelings,

Bodily sensations,

The sounds around us.

I want you to feel that you're now going deeper into the restfulness of sitting in the center of the wheel,

Where you can observe and watch the outer rim,

The changing thoughts,

The changing sensations,

The changing feelings,

And observe,

Witness,

Watch with presence and with your breath.

See what's there for you right now,

What thoughts are spinning on the outer rim,

What feelings,

And what bodily sensations,

Without having to alter,

Change,

Get rid of,

Hang onto,

Feel yourself simply watching and observing the changing thoughts that come,

Notice what they are,

Feelings that might arise,

The emotions,

And the physical sensations in your body.

As you feel yourself resting a little bit deeper in the center of the wheel,

In the center of your chest,

In the place of your heart,

Welcome in compassion for those thoughts and feelings and sensations.

Allow them to be spinning on the outer rim,

But you are in the center of the wheel,

Untouched,

Observing,

And witnessing.

Feel the breath moving gently in and out of your body,

And take yourself now to your most favorite place in nature.

Imagine it vividly,

See yourself walking around,

Observing this place,

This favorite place of yours.

Perhaps it's walking along the beach and feeling the sand between your toes,

Or maybe you're in a forest,

The dappled sunlight coming through the trees,

The coolness of the earth.

Whatever your favorite place in nature is,

Take yourself there now.

Feel that this place is with you in the center of the spinning wheel,

And you are resting in this place,

Alert,

Aware of the outer rim,

Without any need to go out and spin around with the thoughts,

The feelings,

The sensations.

Let yourself observe,

Perceive,

And feel nourished by resting in the stillness at the center of the wheel,

In this place,

This favorite place of yours in nature.

You may have a question or something that's troubling you,

And you can ask that now.

Ask for the answer,

Which is always within you.

As soon as you create this space,

This stillness,

The answer will come.

Don't grasp for an answer.

If you have a question,

Just put it out,

And then rest in this space at the center of the wheel.

When you feel complete,

Wiggle your toes,

Wiggle your hands,

Take a deep breath,

And exhale with a sigh.

Use this meditation to remind you when you get stuck,

When you overthink,

When you're over-analyzing,

To rest in the center of the spinning wheel.
