Now let's practice with a meditation I call filling the cup.
So taking a nice comfortable position,
Maybe sitting on a chair or lying down,
Whatever feels comfortable now.
And first just taking a few deep breaths in.
You can do it even with sound like and breathing out.
Whatever makes you feel more attuned to yourself and to your body.
And then just coming back to our normal breathing.
Imagining and feeling that the body knows how to breathe itself.
And in this state just imagine a puppy or a rabbit if this comes easily to mind.
Just seeing them in front of your eyes.
Maybe thinking or feeling a need of care that might arise naturally.
Maybe taking them into your arms or feeling the softness of the hair.
And maybe really lingering and dwelling into this feeling of nurturing towards them and loving kindness.
Really feeling if there is any change in your body when you feel this.
Maybe a smile or a warmth somewhere in your body.
Seeing the puppy or the small rabbit.
And with this feeling in mind imagine your body is like a big cup and all this feeling of care starts to pour into your own body.
It fills the legs.
And then it pours and fills the belly.
And with the belly full of loving kindness and care the cup goes up and the rib cage is now full of this feeling.
And the body keeps filling with care and kindness into the neck and the head until it pours over.
And now feeling the body,
Feeling it with all this nice comforting sense of care,
Loving kindness,
Nurturing.
And let this care to fill the soul and the mind also.
This kindness is now everywhere.
From the tips of your toes to the mind.
Invite the feeling to grow and become more intense.
Care,
Safety,
Kindness.
And this comes naturally whenever you set your intention to bring it here.
Now being full you know you may pour into somebody else's cup without emptying yours.
The flow of kindness and care is always available.
Now with the cup filled start to move the legs,
The arms,
Slowly opening the eyes if you feel to.
This practice is now complete.
