This is an acupressure meditation for a clear mind.

I'll teach two acupressure points on the head.

In general,

Holding acupressure points are very safe and effective,

But some precaution would be not to press on any area of injury or if anything doesn't feel right to you when holding these points,

Simply let go.

So for this meditation,

I'll teach the points,

Guide you through holding them,

And offer you some affirmations for holding the points.

This meditation is best done reclining on your back,

Maybe on the floor,

Your yoga mat,

Or on your bed with a pillow underneath your head and maybe two extra pillows to support your arms while holding the points.

The first point is called the governing vessel 16 or its translation is the wind mansion.

It's located in the very center back of your head in the large hollow underneath the base of the skull.

You might feel for this right now.

Bring one of your hands,

It doesn't matter which,

One of your hands to the very back of your head where the neck ends and the skull begins and feel right in the center back of the head.

Do you feel a very large hollow dip or it might feel like a cave?

That's governing vessel 16 wind mansion.

In this acupressure point,

Some of the traditional indications for use from Chinese medicine is that this point may potentially clear the mind,

Relieve headaches,

Aids the eyes,

Ears,

Nose and throat,

And possibly bring a sense of clarity to the mind.

The other acupressure point that I'll guide holding is called the governing vessel 24 and a half.

This is the third eye point,

The spot right in between your eyebrows on your face.

And if you'd like to feel for that point right now,

Do you feel a little dip or a little notch in the bone right in between your eyebrows?

That's the third eye acupressure point or called the governing vessel 24 and a half.

So I'll guide you through holding these two acupressure points together.

And as I mentioned in the reclining position when holding these points,

If it's comfortable for you to have a couple of extra pillows for underneath your elbows as your arms elbows wing out to the sides a bit while holding the points,

You might gather some extra pillows.

Let's begin.

Breathing in any kind of comfortable position where your body feels at ease.

And this gentle reminder and encouragement that everything is just an option.

My suggestion on how to hold,

How to breathe and meditate.

You're welcome to bring in your own interpretations and your own sense of intuition for holding these points.

Bring one of your hands,

It doesn't matter which,

To the back of your head.

Feel for where the skull ends,

Neck begins,

That largest hollow or dip right in the center,

Your governing vessel 16 wind mansion.

And your other hand feeling for right in between the eyebrows,

Your third eye point,

That seat of intuition,

And holding these two acupressure points together.

You might make any small adjustments in the beginning so that your arms feel comfortable as we'll be holding this point together for about three minutes or so.

Making any small movement or adjustment that you need so that your shoulders feel stable,

Relaxed.

And your hands,

Your fingers that are holding the acupressure point,

That they are holding with steady pressure.

You might imagine your elbows,

Forearms,

Wrists,

Hands,

Fingers,

All relaxing all the way down to the bones so that you have this calm,

Tranquil energy traveling out through your hands right into these two acupressure points on your head.

And if it's comfortable for you,

You're welcome to close your eyes.

Following the rhythm of your breath,

Notice the pace of your inhale and your exhale.

And now feel into the pads of your fingers that are doing the holding of these acupressure points.

Do you feel a sense of connection between the points?

Do you feel as if your hands are like magnets being drawn towards each other?

Do you feel any sort of tingling or pulsation beneath your hands,

Your fingers?

Maybe feeling all of the above or none of the above,

Holding yourself in this moment with a sense of compassion,

Openness,

Possibility.

And as you hold these acupressure points,

I offer you these affirmations.

I trust myself.

I know what to do.

Or I welcome clarity and confidence.

You're welcome to choose any of those affirmations or listening to the wisdom of your heart,

Creating your own affirmation and silently repeating your affirmation to yourself three times.

Little by little,

Let go of the pressure of holding these two acupressure points for a clear mind.

Simply let your arms relax by your sides or anywhere else comfortable for you.

Feel into the echo,

The ripple of holding these two points.

Noticing your breath,

Your body,

This moment.

And now feeling your whole back of your body on the floor or on your bed.

Notice all the space,

The air around you.

If your eyes were closed in your own time,

Little by little opening your eyes to bring yourself back into your space,

Your room.

Thank you.
