Join me for this somatic parts-work meditation to offer presence to exhausted parts of you, especially as it relates to masking fatigue. This audio invites you to connect with your body with curiosity, tuning in with feedback parts might be offering you through your body. Rather than trying to 'fix' what you're noticing, this audio most simply invites you to offer presence to this exhaustion. The audio ends with gentle breathing and grounding to help you transition back into your day. You are welcome to pause this audio at any time to accommodate your preferred pace. Also, you are welcome to utilise the free feature of adding ambient sounds to this audio by clicking the music note symbol to the left of the play button after you start this audio. There are several free options here you can choose from if you'd like an ambient soundscape behind my voice. In these few minutes together,

We're going to simply slow down and be with the exhaustion that we're carrying in our days.

So rather than trying to fix it or breathe it away,

We're simply going to witness and be with exhaustion that others may or may not see or get,

But that we know and feel most intimately as we are the ones carrying it.

So,

To get started I invite you to settle into the space,

Shifting your body finding a comfortable position.

Keep your eyes open or close whatever feels most natural and safe.

Pausing the audio if you would like more time to settle in here.

Being curious to notice where in your body.

You most distinctly feel exhaustion.

Where is it that you are carrying that exhaustion.

Where in your body are you receiving feedback that you are exhausted.

Maybe it feels like the answer is everywhere.

Maybe there are specific spaces that feel a bit louder than others.

Whatever you're noticing,

If it feels comfortable and safe to do so I invite you to place your hands over the spaces where you're holding exhaustion.

So maybe you place your hands over your shoulders that feel as though they're carrying the weight of the world on them.

Maybe you place your hands over your gut that gets tied up in knots,

And just can't seem to fully be at rest.

Maybe you place your hands over your heart.

That seems to beat so fast.

Even when you try to calm down.

Maybe you place your hands over your jaw.

It seems to clench be tight.

Maybe you place your hands over your head,

Your lower back,

Your legs,

Your feet.

Wherever you're noticing that there is exhaustion,

Fatigue.

If you would like,

Pausing the audio if you'd like to spend any more time here,

Honoring witnessing and responding to the fatigue that you've been carrying.

And before we close we're simply going to invite some gentle breaths.

Again,

Not trying to breathe away our exhaustion,

Not trying to just shift our mindset so that we can jump into the rest of our day,

Ignoring our exhaustion.

But instead with those gentle breaths.

I invite you to imagine the rest of your day today.

It's the end of the day maybe you're imagining your day tomorrow.

So just being curious to notice what it might look like to be with and honor this exhaustion in the steps ahead of you.

So again,

Rather than shifting gears and trying to ignore exhaustion or just feel better.

Or maybe rather than some imagery like dragging the exhausted parts of you along.

Imagining what would it be like to gently carry and tend to and almost maybe wrap or swaddle up the exhausted parts.

As you continue to go through your day and your week.

What might have both and of continuing to live out your week,

And tending to and witnessing honoring and caring for these tired parts of you look like.

Maybe you imagine this in mental imagery that gives you a sense of a nice deep exhale.

It's meaningful in some way that communicates a sense of witnessing to these parts of you.

Maybe you envision a practical thing that you would like to do,

Whether it's a nap,

A walk,

A bath,

Whatever you're envisioning.

I invite you to be curious,

Just to notice how you're responding to these parts.

Again,

Seeing what it might be like to offer a presence of being with,

Rather than trying to make that exhaustion go away.

And this can be hard.

This doesn't always feel natural.

And so if that's not where you are.

I invite you to take a nice deep breath and know that that's okay.

It's okay to be right where you are.

Simply noticing how you feel about the fatigue and exhaustion that you're carrying with you tired and weary parts of you that you're carrying with you.

Just noticing if there's any longings inside for that dynamic to maybe look different.

Maybe that dynamic feels familiar to things that you experienced with parents,

Teachers,

Coaches.

Maybe you'd like a different dynamic.

Maybe you wish those people had responded to fatigue or exhaustion in your life previously differently,

And maybe now there's an opportunity to create something new.

So again,

Thinking about the day ahead of you.

Maybe tomorrow or the week ahead of you.

Just being curious.

What might you want this to look like.

Not what do you think it should look like.

Not necessarily what does it normally look like.

What would you like it to look like.

You can pause the audio and spend as much time with this imagery as you would like to.

Whenever you're ready,

I invite you to mindfully land here before shifting into the rest of your day.

I invite you to mindfully honoring and thanking your body,

And all parts of you for engaging in whatever ways that they did.

If it feels authentic,

Letting your body and parts of you know how you would like to respond and be with the exhaustion that you're carrying.

Any ways that you might want to be open and receptive to the feedback they want to offer you.

Whenever you feel ready,

Anchoring into three gentle breaths,

Pressing your palms,

The bottoms of your feet into the ground,

Or the furniture that you're on really noticing where you are opening your eyes if you haven't already.

Maybe inviting a little smile and stepping into the rest of your day.
