Join me to take a little break,
Resting on a stone that's part of an old stone fence alongside a field in beautiful sunny Scotland.
You can take a moment to enjoy a gentle breath or two sinking into this time,
Taking a moment to place things on a shelf that might feel like distractions or worries,
Knowing life will be waiting for you on the other side of this audio.
But for right now you get to simply take a break and join me in this beautiful place.
If it feels comfortable you can close your eyes,
Letting yourself sink into the imagery that I'll describe.
You can imagine that your body is resting securely on an old stone.
You see the stones next to it have a vibrant green moss growing.
The stone fence extends as far as your eye can see and looking the other direction rather than seeing fields.
There's just a bit of fields,
Another stone wall,
And then the North Sea.
The water is a rich blue and today the sea is coming in with waves that have white crests almost coming in diagonally,
Crisscrossing against each other,
Dancing as they find and meet each other.
There are birds chirping somewhere in or above the fields.
The blue sky looks like it has lacy white clouds painted across it.
The sun is low,
Not quite setting yet,
But a slant that's almost hard to look at,
It's so bright.
And across from that low sun,
The moon is high,
Steady,
And fixed above the coast,
Above the fields.
In the distance,
There are seagulls flying.
There are sounds of sheep somewhere across the horizon.
There are sturdy rocks planted in place with white jumping crested waves inching toward them.
The wind is gentle.
The fields barely move.
Shadows are long and stretched.
The sound of the waves roars in the background continuously.
You can stay here as long as you want.
You can fill in this imagery in any way that you would like.
If you'd like to stay here longer,
I encourage you to pause the audio and press play when you'd like to close your time.
Whenever you're ready,
We'll gently come back to the space that you're in right now,
Inviting some gentle breaths,
Some slow movement,
Wiggling your toes,
Your fingers,
Moving the muscles of your face,
Opening and closing your jaw,
Maybe wiggling your shoulders or hips around.
And before opening your eyes,
Placing a hand over your heart or your abdomen,
Just letting yourself savor one thing that really stood out to you,
One thing that really gave you a visceral sense of grounding or peace,
Hope or beauty.
Something you want to take with you into the rest of the day and the rest of your week.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes,
Take one final inhale and exhale,
And gently shift back into the rest of your day.
