This morning meditation includes guided breathing, body connection, and a "check-in" with what is happening inside to start the day. The track closes with Christian integration and prayer. While designed for the morning, this track can be used at any time to press the pause button and connect with the different emotions, thoughts, and parts of us that we hold internally. **Please note, this track, nor any other by this author, is intended to be a substitute for professional mental health services.

To get started I invite you to take some extensively deep breaths really waking up the body letting these be the deepest breaths you've taken so far today imagining breathing into the bottom of your toes the tips of your fingers kind of all corners of your abdomen in your body fully waking yourself up to this day and to this meditation you can incorporate some stretching and some deep sighs almost imagining you're like a little kid who's woken up after a really great sleep if you're an animal person you can imagine almost like a dog or a cat that wakes up from a great nap stretching and waking up the body I invite you to continue that nice deep breathing throughout you can close your eyes if you're comfortable and take a moment to consider how you're starting your day what's happening inside of you as the day begins you might consider what feels fresh and what feels new in this day in what ways do you feel ready to enter what's ahead of you and in what ways do you feel almost a heaviness or being weighed down by things that maybe happened yesterday or in the last week maybe even the last month or the last year continuing your breathing just noticing what feels new and fresh what feels heavy and weary and as you're noticing these things you can consider how this might connect with different parts of you different facets of your being so if you're noticing a weariness a fatigue that's coming with you in this day from previous days which parts of you are tired and how do you envision that in any sense of newness or hope or expectation as you start a new day which parts of you can feel that which parts of you have almost this spark of a new day in them and how do you envision that and continuing some nice deep breaths you can consider is there anything that any part of you needs going into this day and what might it look like to ask God to minister to this part of you or these parts of you maybe even asking God to carry part of you into this day and through this day maybe you'd like to envision God breathing life into parts of you and to certain facets of your being or the depths of your soul maybe you'd like to ask God for hope as you step into this day for his grace for his mercy to help you see him to be reminded of his presence or his care continuing those nice deep breaths you can ask one more time is there anything that any part of me might want or need to ask from God going into this day what kind of care what kind of help might be needed and this is very different from the mindset we normally have in our society and in our culture we like to feel strong and independent and so you can also gently assess does it feel uncomfortable to ask for God's help I want to encourage you if that does feel uncomfortable especially for protective parts of you that are used to being your source of strength that are used to carrying you or carrying hurting parts of you but that's okay if that's where things are right now and maybe today your prayer is simply asking God to help those parts of you consider the possibility you know hypothetically one day of what would it be like if they didn't have to do that heavy lifting if they were relieved of that burden and if they got to experience the lightness the ease of Christ's yoke what it might be like to have rest if you want or need any more time to chew on this you're welcome to pause otherwise I'm going to close us with a prayer Lord God as we enter this day would you be our strength would you be our hope would you be our breath would you sustain us in the ways that only you can would you mercifully minister to the parts of us that have maybe for years tried to hold it all together not knowing that there's the option for you to carry us that you are the one who holds all things together I pray that you would help us not shame any parts of us that just aren't ready to jump into all this quite yet that you would help us take your lead of gentle compassion patient mercy ministering to these parts of us drawing into rest and trust with you amen

I really like the prayers you add to these. They are more than a “talk/meditation,” and I like that! Thank you!
