In a course in miracles,

Each breath blends perfectly with the sound of a flowing river,
Steady,
Calm,
And nurturing.
You are beside a great river,
Its water glowing with radiant light.
This river represents love,
Never-ending,
Abundant,
And pure.
Say to yourself,
Say in your mind,
Reach down,
Dip your hands into the water,
Draw the radiant water from the river.
Its cool,
Glowing energy pools in your hands.
You look up.
There is a figure standing far across the river,
A friend,
Family member,
Or anyone whose healing you wish to support.
They are embraced in the soft mist,
A golden light.
As you prepare to pour the water from your hands,
The water transforms.
Instead of simply falling from your hands and disappearing,
This water harps gracefully through the air.
It transforms into a luminous stream of light,
Extending across the river,
Across the distance between you,
Defying gravity and space.
This stream of light moves across the river as if drawn by connection and love,
Its flow undiminished,
A ribbon of light linking both your hearts.
As you send your blessings,
The person on the river's far bank responds,
Gathering their own handfuls of water,
Sending blessings back to you.
Welcome this truth,
Giving love multiplies love,
For both the giver and receiver.
Each act of blessing creates waves of healing and compassion that journey well beyond this present moment and place,
Melting away any sense of separation.
This water does not lose its strength from the distance,
Instead it becomes even more luminous and powerful by virtue of its journey.
Through this offering,
The truth of Principle 9 is revealed,
To give nourishes both giver and receiver,
With harmony,
Peace,
Joining two in compassion,
Transcending distance,
Space and time,
As both hearts grow in wholeness and strength.

In an affectionate embrace.
Notice the deep warmth in your heart,
And the subtle glow in your palms,
Knowing that this exchange continues to unite and renew you both.
Giving is receiving.
The more I give,

Compassion and love.
