Navigating change can be difficult and instead of trying to make things feel better or skipping over the difficulty to arrive at positivity, coming to a place of neutral acceptance can be a more realistic and helpful first step. For this practice, we'll simply practice acceptance of what's arising with an attitude of curiosity and kindness.

Navigating change and transitions in our lives can be difficult.

And instead of trying to make things feel better,

Or to skip over the difficulty to arrive at a place of positivity,

Coming to a place of neutral acceptance can sometimes be more realistic and also a helpful first step.

So we're going to do a short micro practice together,

And this will be a practice around acceptance.

So for this practice,

I invite you to find a comfortable spot,

And you can close your eyes if you'd like to,

Or gently look down in front of you,

And just take a moment to arrive into this moment in time.

And I'll invite you to take three big deep breaths together.

So you can put a hand on your heart if you want to,

If that feels comforting.

And let's start by taking one big deep breath in together,

And just allowing our bodies and minds and hearts to arrive in this moment.

And let's take one more big breath in together,

Just noticing where we are in this moment in time.

Taking one last big breath in together,

And just noticing what's present in our bodies,

Noticing if there's any feelings that are arising.

You can say out loud or quietly to yourself in your head,

This is happening,

Or this is how this is right now.

Whatever is present,

Not turning away or running from it or freezing,

Wanting to fight it,

But just allowing it to be just as it is.

And as you continue to breathe,

Just noticing if that sensation or feeling starts to move or shift or soften.

And if it doesn't,

That's totally okay.

Just allowing whatever is present to be for you to be exactly as you are.

Let's take one last big breath in together.

When you're ready,

You can lower your hand and open your eyes,

And just return to this moment.

Thank you for practicing.
