Welcome to this practice on orienting towards the good.
So often in our lives,
There can be this sense of negativity bias or turning towards what's not working instead of what is working.
And it can take some practice to reorient our attention and our minds and our thoughts towards the good in our lives.
So this practice can be particularly supportive when you're looking to orient towards more gratitude and joy and to bring a sense of ease into your day.
So I'll invite you to find a comfortable place to sit,
Stand or lie down.
You can feel your feet on the ground or feel those feet beneath you.
You can close your eyes if you'd like to.
Just knowing that you are supported and taking a few deep breaths together.
And as you continue to breathe,
I'll just invite you to bring to mind three positive things that happened in the last 24 hours.
Three moments that you are grateful for.
If it's challenging to think of something,
Maybe just thinking of the first thing and then seeing what arises from there.
It's okay if three things don't arise.
It's just orienting towards starting with something that you're grateful for.
And then just notice what happens in the body when you bring these different things that you're grateful for to mind.
Perhaps there's a warmth and a tingling in the body.
Perhaps the shoulders soften or you feel a sense of relaxation and ease.
Maybe there's a slight smile that comes to your face as you reflect on these things that you're grateful for.
Just taking a few moments to savor that feeling and those sensations.
What does it feel like to feel gratitude in the body?
And then I'll invite you to take another breath in together.
And on the exhale,
You can open your eyes and maybe take a few minutes to write down your experience.
What is it that you are grateful for in the last 24 hours?
And what does it feel like to feel gratitude?
Thank you for practicing today and I wish you well.
