This is a guided 8-step goal setting or decision-making contemplation that can be completed over a cup of coffee. Each of the 8 steps have a short time allocation, which can be extended by pressing "pause" on your device. It's useful to begin with a short relaxation technique to gather focus.

This contemplation is short.

As you go through the guidance be prepared to press pause on your device to allow more than the minute allocated to each segment.

Sit with paper and pens nearby,

Making notes clears the mind for what may appear next.

If you can use the short relaxation technique to gather focus before you begin or simply settle your attention on the breath and the gentle movement of the body.

As we go through this contemplation if you can allow extra time to sit quietly with each question.

If you need to be quick be efficient without rushing.

When you write,

Write slowly,

Still ruminating on the question,

Letting your own inner guidance have the space to arise before you move on to the next question.

First bring to mind the thing you are contemplating.

Think about any prior experience in this area,

Perhaps some formal skills or study.

Now include any experiential learning,

What books,

Groups,

Talks,

Information gleaned and activities undertaken in this area.

Next bring to mind your own personal style and way,

How you do things.

Sit quietly for a while,

Reflecting on what's arisen,

What you've written and stay alert to what else may be arising at the end of this process,

Remembering that life and growth is a continuing process so any decisions and goals will need to be revisited and reviewed.

Take a moment now to gather and refocus on what's next.
