This meditation will help you soften the grip on those patterns and the judgements that often come with the and to help improve acceptance and compassion for ourselves, as we learn tol love ourselves just as we are.

Hello and welcome.

In our last meditation,

We explored having compassion and non-judgment while identifying a pattern or habit that doesn't serve our highest good.

In this meditation,

We will work with accepting ourselves just as we are,

But also softening our grip on those patterns,

Preparing to release and let them go.

Find a comfortable seat or lay down.

If it feels good for you to close the eyes,

Please feel free to do that or set your gaze over the tip of your nose.

Act in with your breath,

Noticing the gentle inhale and exhale.

You don't have to change the breath or alter it in any way,

Just observe.

Observe what's there,

The sensations,

The temperature of the breath or where it's most present in your body today.

If the mind wants to wander away from this place of relaxation and concentration,

That's okay.

Just gently draw your attention back to your breathing.

Try and rest in this primary state of being.

In this moment,

Arrive.

With each inhale,

Expand and open.

And with each exhale,

Soften and begin to let go.

Maybe the inhale illuminates places in the body,

The mind,

Or the heart that need your special care and attention.

Maybe with the exhale,

You actively soften those places.

Release a little more tension and begin the practice of letting go.

Bring into your awareness now the pattern from your first meditation that you were working with.

Start to place that pattern or habit back up on that movie screen,

Pulling yourself from being inside the story to looking at it as the observer.

Can you observe with compassion and non-judgment?

As you begin to notice and observe more clearly your pattern,

Can you see places that you can start to soften the grip on that pattern?

You start to understand more fully its cycle,

One action,

One moment leading to the next.

As you start to see this pattern even more clearly now,

Can you invite in grace?

Can you invite in that feeling of forgiveness and love?

Can you allow it to be what it is in this moment?

Can you allow for the idea that this pattern once served a purpose for you?

And now,

Let's run its course,

Taught you what you need to learn with the acknowledgement that all things change.

Now is the time for letting go.

We can accept our present moment and invite in change.

Those things aren't mutually exclusive.

Learning starts with that light of awareness,

But also acceptance,

Forgiveness,

And love for ourselves.

Once we see a pattern or habit and we know it's not working,

We can't unsee it or unknow it.

Awareness illuminates those places where we know we can change,

Where we know we can let go of what doesn't serve our higher good,

Our peace,

Our happiness.

To allow ourselves to be fully awake in these moments means accountability and responsibility for our beautiful lives.

Knowing these things,

We can grow,

Stretch,

Move forward.

Staying with the breath here,

The sensations of the inhale and the exhale,

Or the gentle pulsation of the palms,

The warmth in the hands.

Can you allow yourself,

The observer,

To see and discover the power of acceptance and letting go?

Can you imagine releasing the heaviness of this pattern with bravery?

When you choose to move away from negative thought patterns or habits or beliefs,

You choose your highest self.

You choose your happiness,

Your contentment.

Your eyes are open to the experience.

With forgiveness,

Acceptance,

And love,

Can you say goodbye to this pattern that you've been holding on to?

Can you see that part of you is being called to step into something new?

Can you rely on the wisdom of your own experience to lead you down a new path,

One more fulfilling,

More peaceful?

Feel your breath move in and out of the nose.

Notice the sensations you're feeling in the body.

Maybe there's a lightness,

As you imagine no longer having the heaviness,

The burden of that negative pattern or thought.

Maybe there is a sense of freedom,

A sense of relief.

Feel into that space of contentment and peace.

Allow your breath to deepen.

Allow your awareness to return to this moment.

Maybe you wiggle your fingers and toes or rock your head from side to side or take a nice deep stretch.

Gently blink your eyes open and take into your surroundings this new moment.
