Greetings my friends and welcome to this next Wizard Wisdom series about my new system called Inner Mythic Systems.
So in this talk I want to give you a general sense,
A general overview of what it is,
How you might start working with it yourself if you'd like,
And if you want to go deeper please reach out.
I do offer in-depth classes on this and will be providing some here soon available for everyone to really go into the depths of this process.
So Inner Mythic Systems is inspired by my lifelong passion and study of mythology and mythology across many different cultures and how mythology connects us to the land,
To the world,
To spiritual forces,
And to ourselves.
That it is a holographical symbolic map to help us understand ourselves and our journey through life.
Now of course there's many many beautiful mythologies around the world.
There's a few that I've gotten to study and connect with and even those as much as I've studied always feels like there's more to learn about them and of course there are so many other ones out there around the world that I haven't even gotten to touch that are all just incredibly beautiful.
And I always encourage people to check out mythologies that call to them and especially ones that may be related to your own personal ancestry is a really great way to start and go deeper into your own inner mythic systems.
Mythologies have evolved and developed around the world for you know going way way way way back.
Majority of humans history has been connected and lived through various mythologies and these mythologies birth out of each culture you know from the environment they're in,
From the stories,
From the experiences of the people,
And like all good stories they always often evolve over time some faster than others depending on all sorts of situations and localities but mythology is these are these beautiful stories that as I said help us understand ourselves,
Help us understand the world around us,
Help us understand the natural and spiritual forces at work,
And our relation to them.
And a big part of mythology is our relationships,
Our connections,
The connections of us to the world and relationships of the world and how to sort of stay in harmony with that I also feel like mythologies are often sort of a blueprint,
An instruction manual if you will,
For the journey of Earth.
You know if we had a instruction manual when we were born of how do we do this human thing would be very helpful but of course we don't.
However I do feel like mythologies were sort of that guidebook in the past and it was a way for you know one generation to pass wisdom on to the next generation and help carry that wisdom forward and you know fortunately most of us in modern day have lost that most likely in one form or another.
Perhaps we have some sort of Judeo-Christian mythology that maybe has been supportive and maybe not.
You know there are beautiful things in those mythologies and of course you know a lot of things have been sort of tweaked and maybe used improperly.
I won't go down that rabbit hole but you probably get what I mean.
So there is that mythology you know maybe if you were born into some more indigenous roots you might still have some remnants of your ancestral's mythologies available to you and those are all beautiful.
However many of us either had the Judeo-Christian mythology or very limited or not at all and often even if we did we're sort of impressed upon these mythical characters from outside media which is so prevalent you know over the last 20,
30,
40,
50 years from TV,
Movies,
Books,
Comics and all sorts of other things that fill our sort of inner system with these mythical characters these fictional characters maybe or even real-life characters like movie stars or musicians or celebrities of other sorts or politicians even.
Our consciousness is designed has evolved for thousands of years to have some sort of mythical framework within us and you know in ancient times I believe it was more in ancient cultures mythology was so woven into daily life right there was a constant daily awareness,
Connection,
Honoring,
Giving thanks,
Sharing and relating through the culture's mythology and we don't have that same kind of framework anymore although those mythic concepts are still working.
Many of us may relate or connect with others through modern versions of that mythology.
Perhaps it's a sports team and we're sharing stories around what happened on the game or we're talking about our favorite show or movie or what's happening with some celebrity right there's still sort of this interweaving and connecting with each other and the larger world through these modern sort of mythical replacements such as celebrities and musicians and politicians and sports teams and that those sorts of things that are more prevalent in today's society.
The difference is they're not always actually supportive of us.
You know those modern mythical replacements don't have the same deeply spiritual personal relatable connection and often are sort of displaced from our locality our local bio region that is very important for our particular wellness from from the local nature aspect of it as well as our local community connections.
So this mythology these mythical sort of characters that might replace the original mythic system within us are not always nurturing of who we are and what we are and our life's journey.
This creates these sort of psychological disconnects.
As I said people from around the world for thousands and thousands of years evolved and lived with a mythical cast a mythical framework the inner mythic system as I call it within their consciousness and that was just the way of life and now that framework that system is still in place in our consciousness but the cast if you will the placeholders of those mythical beings are scattered and disoriented and not really harmonically connected and supportive of who we are and our life and so this concept of inner mythic systems is about understanding the mythical framework right there's certain elements of mythology that are fairly universal there's gods and goddesses there's locations there's symbols there's special items of power there is often a tree of life which if you know my work I talk a lot about the tree of life is pretty universal as a map of interconnectedness and a sort of structural framework that holds in the mythology.
There's certain journeys of alchemy that happen within a mythology that perhaps the gods or goddesses or other heroes or heroines go through the mythology.
These all hold wisdom and lessons and support us and help us understand our own experiences and initiations through life.
So there's a lot of these sort of universal key elements and I just labeled a few there's many more that that structure that create a mythology and of course each mythology has its own sort of local flavor if you will write its own local versions and stories and names and places of that but there are some universal concepts that are pretty well found everywhere and so in inner mythic systems we begin to first identify those core elements of mythology then the next step is to see what's already in your inner mythic systems if you think of the inner mythic systems as a structural framework right sort of an operating system that's within all of us however if you're in that modern-day society your I'll say system your hardware the inner mythic system hardware has been given software or apps or programs of you know perhaps mythic figures right from celebrities cartoons movies right how many of us love certain famous movies or stories those have sort of infused themselves sort of taken place of those mythical figures we might have from our past culture and are sort of in our hardware in our internal mythic system hardware so the first step is to do some inner visionary inner reflection on what is being held what is fulfilling those spots in our inner mythic system then how can we begin to evaluate are they actually supportive are they in resonance with our own soul or spirit or avatars I love to call it or are they reflective and still useful maybe they were useful at some point are they still useful so doing some evaluation work of what's the cast of characters in yours and often for many of us it can be a lot because you know we get inundated with a lot more characters and stories and movies and all kinds of things then maybe in centuries past where humanity you know as maybe a little more isolated there weren't quite as many stories and media available as it are now so some of us may have a lot of characters in there so this can be a little more timely process and can take some time to work through and that's something I work with people and are more robust classes of sorting that out once it's been evaluated we also look at the characters that are have been real life right our parents family members teachers relationships all those may also be playing a role in our mythic system you know as I said we have that internal mythical framework in our consciousness and if it hasn't been fulfilled with a mythology our natural tendency is to just put different people as placeholders in our system and they become part of the cast of our story so we're even going through our actual real relationships and evaluating their place within our consciousness there's the the term nowadays called saying living rent-free in my head so what what characters are living rent-free in your mythos right in your mythology and unraveling and discovering that and again evaluating are they supportive are they still supportive maybe you had somebody really great that did a lot of really positive things for you in your life it might still be supportive to have them in your mythology and maybe not from there once that's been clarified then moving on to what do I want to now import or bring in to my inner mythology and that may be characters from other stories from other mythologies maybe mythologies related to your actual ancestry you know maybe you've got some Celtic or maybe from somewhere in Asia or somewhere in Africa or some other beautiful place and there's some stories there that are still supportive and resonant and inspiring for you maybe it's time to bring them in or perhaps there may be new characters new mythical figures to develop to reconnect with and these can be you can think of these as either psychological archetypes right that you're creating and or actual spirit beings you know however you want to look at it these are different layers of your own super conscious that you're tuning into and creating and just like any good story any good mythology they may evolve develop you know it might take you some time to develop these characters and then begin building a relation with them now my class we also work on mapping these out how do we map them out on our tree of life how do they work within the map of our personal life and our journey and how do we call upon them for different things how can we learn from them right how can we honor them and build a relationship so as you create that new cast of your inner mythic system it's also about developing your relation and your application of that in your day-to-day life how can we bring forth this new inner mythic system to support you to encourage you to nourish you and to hopefully make the journey here in the realm of earth much more enjoyable and exciting as you go forth so the process the quick overview of the process first understanding mythical elements seeing what is already in your inner mythic system what might be filling up those slots and seeing if it's all good or not and if we need to reevaluate or reorient or reposition anything in your inner mythic system then finding other myths that may be relevant to you and seeing what we want to bring in maybe it's a little bit of another mythic system maybe it's a whole lot of another mythic system you get to decide and then from there see what else we want to fill up in a new way in your inner mythic system so it's almost like your team you know if you're a boss and you had 30 employees at your office at your company you've created and you can think of it this way you know that if you got those 30 employees maybe they were just sort of filled for you over the last years of your life all of a sudden you got all these employees and they're just there and they're just sort of working away doing their thing and you haven't really given it much thought and now the time is to evaluate oh are all these employees really supportive are they really doing the work I want are they really helping out in a way or did I just sort of accept them and they're just kind of there I'm just kind of used to them right is there any employees we need to let go of reevaluate do we need to bring in some new employees right new mythical characters into our conscious and this inner mythic system is always there it's operating in everyone all the time whether they're aware of it or not as I said I do believe that our systems were designed for this that's why pretty much every culture around the world has had mythologies had has these stories right it's an important part of who we are and how we relate and it's really just this modern age where we've been sort of disconnected from that and so this is invitation this is a an opportunity to create a new mythology for us that's personal and meaningful and perhaps even then share it with others because that's the next aspect or element of mythology is to share to share those stories to use those stories as both entertainment but also inspiration as honoring as accepting of another and our relationship to the world around us so from there there's many more aspects to this work of building the mythology but I wanted to introduce this concept here this experience here so you might begin thinking feeling intuiting dreaming up your own new mythology and if you'd like to learn more or go deeper into this work please do reach out for there is much more to discover and create and enjoy in your inner mythic systems so thank you so much for listening and tuning in and let me know what your mythology is in the comments and hope to connect with you another time
