Hi and welcome.
Before you begin,
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable seat.
Cross your legs into your lap.
Settle your pelvis.
Align your shoulders directly over the pelvis and the head directly over the spine.
Relax your jaw and soften your face,
Your eyes and connect to a completely natural flow of breath.
Let the breath travel in and out of the nose,
Extending down into your chest.
Relax your arms and hands and taking a moment to settle into yourself.
You're going to be connecting to your power.
You're going to be connecting to what you experience as your felt sense of power and your relationship to power.
This is a useful practice to do when you may be feeling powerless,
In order to connect you to your inherent and felt sense of power within you.
Power is energy and it holds the inherent capacity of free will.
To exhibit power means to direct,
To initiate and to bring something about that you want.
All beings in existence have power and it is a matter of how we use that power,
Using it for our own good and for the good of others or using it against us or against others.
When feeling at the mercy of something,
When feeling at the mercy of someone else's power,
You may have a sense that you've given your power away.
And this is something that is unfair and it's unrealistic to say.
It's an invalidation of the powerlessness you may be feeling.
And it might not even quite make sense because you didn't consciously give anything away.
You didn't consciously give your power away.
Gaining your power back is realizing and acknowledging that you have it.
That it is impossible to lose your power inherently.
You may feel like choice is being taken from you,
Yet choice itself cannot be taken.
You may feel as if choice is being taken away from you,
Yet choice itself cannot be taken.
See if you can contemplate this for a moment,
Staying connected to your natural flow of breath.
The pressure you may be feeling on your free will is real,
But a lack of choice isn't.
Your free will can choose to comply to that pressure or not.
It's really about realizing where your power lies in this.
In the context that is relative to the mind,
There's always choice.
You can always choose the position of your thoughts.
Not necessarily the experience,
But your thoughts have not lost power,
Ever.
Both aspects of you,
The one that believes it has lost its power,
And the aspect of you that knows its power,
They need to come into agreement.
They need to align with another.
You have every right to feel in disagreement with yourself.
You have every right to feel powerless.
And you also have every right to feel powerful.
Let's just acknowledge that for a moment.
Ground into reality and accept what needs to be accepted.
Your only access to personal power is within reality.
Resistance to reality makes you powerless.
You will always be affected by the world around you.
Surrender to this reality at hand.
Surrendering to the situation itself is very different than giving in to the truth of the situation itself,
Meaning that you can make a decision upon how you respond and place you back into your power.
Surrendering to the situation itself is very different than giving in to the truth of the situation itself.
This truth is that you can make a decision upon how you respond and place you back into your power.
Look for alternative doors and windows.
Think about what you can do,
Not about what you can't do.
Be true to you.
No one can control where you put your energy.
No one can control where you put your energy.
You may feel the pressure,
But you have the freedom of thought.
Put all of your energy into what's true to you.
Put it into what matters and into what's meaningful to you.
What is important to you?
Staying true to yourself is your power.
So again,
Ask yourself,
What is important to you?
Because what's important and what is true to you,
That is your power.
Everything outside of you is replicated inside of you.
Every conflict experienced externally also exists internally.
Everything outside of you is replicated inside of you.
And every conflict experienced externally also exists internally.
See if you can contemplate this for a moment.
Then turn your attention towards feeling,
Seeing,
Hearing,
And getting to know the parts inside of you that feel resistance,
Turning towards resolving these internal conflicts.
And by doing so,
You will begin to no longer feel powerless.
Your reflection will change.
It will change the way you approach a situation.
Find the resistance inside of you and then integrate it.
Your power is in your hands.
Own your responsibility.
Because responsibility equals power.
Choose words and thoughts that empower you instead of words that disempower you.
Also learn to own your limitations and possibly find alternative doors or windows.
Recognize,
Feel,
And cultivate your confidence.
Relative to a situation,
You may ask yourself,
In what aspect do I feel confident in this given situation?
Where are you generally confident?
This will also diminish you from feeling powerless.
You have the ability to respond.
In what ways can you respond to bring about feeling in your power again?
And take the time to process through all the feelings of disempowerment without pushing them away or negating them in any way,
But acknowledging that you have the ability to respond and ask yourself,
In what ways can you respond to bring about feeling in your power?
Take loving care of the part of you that feels powerless.
Admit to feeling powerless.
Acknowledge the mere displacement of your power.
That's really all that it is.
And then decide if you want to maintain this position or if you can reclaim your power instead.
Place yourself into a position of cause rather than a position of effect.
How can you adapt to the reality of the situation so to switch into the position of cause or causing an effect instead of being at the mercy of an effect?
And within doing this you will realize that there is the ability to choose.
Or it is within your power to choose your power.
And see if you can contemplate this for another moment.
How can you adapt to the reality of a situation so to switch into the position of cause or causing an effect instead of being at the mercy of an effect?
And realize that within doing this you have the ability to choose and that therefore it is within your power to choose your power.
Take a few more completely natural deep breaths.
Come back to your body,
Back to your feelings,
Senses.
Connect to your power.
And then taking a moment to close this practice.
And then moving out into the rest of your day.
Namaste.
